Wellspring Arms & Meditation Center, Monday

It was earlier than usual for Cable to walk down the stairs clinging tenaciously (or, alternatively, just holding in a steady kind of way) to his cup of coffee, slapping a paper down on his desk and booting up the laptop before putting the Open sign on the door.

He had something on his mind, but it wasn't unusual. He settled in his chair with the paper, scanning the news.

Deadpool was there, vaguely wondering if he was supposed to be the usual suspect.

But then, really, he should even know it was on the list. But he did. He read the OCD, after all.

And he LOVES that icon.

Luckily these thoughts would disappear shortly before he made it to Nate's desk.

"Hey, Nate!"

"How are things? The kids? The... guns?" Wade asked, hopping up to sit on the corner of Nate's desk.

He should just get a chair for in front of his desk already. Solve this problem.

"She asked about killing people," Wade replied with a shrug. "Thought she deserved an answer about the fun times of the first kill."

A beat. "Oh, and the subsequent mental breakdown that happens later on."

"And since everyone seems so darn focused on keeping the kids from finding out about the less happy side of it all, I was being respons--" He started snickering. "I can't even say it."

Oh, hey, look. Another candidate for "usual suspect" -- one who couldn't read the OCD -- was walking by, as he seemed to do every Monday. This time, he told himself, he wasn't going to go in, as it just seemed to be useless. Instead, he was planning on staring longingly through the window until Cable got annoyed chased him off.

... Oh, hey! Deadpool was there! Change of plans!

He wiped the grin off his face, walked into the store, and bowed respectfully. "Sifu Deadpool," he intoned. "The honorable Mr. Cable here tells me you think I am too unpredictable to own a gun. Although you are my favorite teacher, I must respectfully disagree with your opinion, and I was hoping the three of us could discuss the matter and come to some manner of mutual understanding."

...

...

(Ellipses are fun.)

...

"What's sifu mean?"

So Cable was going to be like that, which meant he'd have to try buttering up Rikku instead. Still, all roads start with Deadpool.

"It means..." Sokka grasped for a synonym. "It's a term of respect, that sort of thing. It means, like, 'teacher', or 'master', or 'mentor', something like that. But more respectful."

...The short answer, which might have helped Deadpool more, but which Sokka didn't know to say, would have been "It's Chinese for 'sensei'."

"Ohhhh." Deadpool kinda liked it. "See, this is why I should have learned Chinese instead of Klingon," He commented, looking back at Nate.

"It's not Chinese," Sokka insisted. "It's... Okay, maybe it is. I don't know. Chinese writing is disturbingly like the writing on my world."

Then he remembered himself and bowed. "...sir," he added. "You deserve the title, because you are awesome."

Jamie bounced into the shop looking chipper.

"Hey Cable. I want to buy a gun that's almost as big as me. I'd also like a big belt with TONS of pouches. Can you arrange that?"

Ed opened the door carefully, looking around. "You have a store?" he asked sounding a bit surprised.

"Nah, I don't like guns," he said, turning slowly to look around.

"They're only good for one thing," Ed remarked as he turned back to Cable. "What's the other half?"
