River gave Mary a wide smile. "A present for me!" Then she pulled a box out of her bag, containing cinnamon and mint cookies. She pushed it towards Mary. "For you."

"Thanks!" said Mary, taking out a cookie and cautiously taking a bite. Cinnamon and mint was an unusual combination, but it wasn't bad.

Mary watched to see if River liked her present. It was a book on how to make towel animals.
