Renee sat at her desk, sipping some of the coffee Cooper gave her for Christmas.

And eying the coffeepot in case any troopers decided to try and steal some.

They could get their own damn coffee today.

"Still alive," Renee said, sitting back in her chair. "Or still dead, whatever."

"Has anyone figured out what we're going to be doing with him yet?" Dale asked. "Or are we holding him indefinitely."

Dale nodded before taking a sip of his coffee. "I'll ask him when he gets in. Any word on the girl he put in a coma?"

A sense of curiosity about just what had gotten his father so upset? Check.

A slightly misguided compassion to make sure that the guy wasn't being mistreated? Also check.

Which was why Luke was now staring at Angelus and giving him a shy smile. "Hi."

The dumbass was strong in his family.

"Man it's like watching a rabbit trying to snuggle with a python," Angelus said, as though Luke wasn't standing right in front of him. Which spoke volumes about what Angelus thought of Luke's intelligence.

Of course he didn't have a choice. That was what jail meant.

Renee come down to the cells in the afternoon, bringing a coffee cup with warm pigs blood in it. And making a face as she carried it.

"Lunchtime," She said dryly, offering the cup.
