Ching Tai, Monday Evening

It was a sorta anniversary night so this meant a real date.

And Teddy making sure the place had tomatoes for Chad's weird cravings. Sometimes he wondered who was really the alien here.

All he needed now was the boyfriend and tonight would just have to be perfect. Which he didn't mention aloud because he knew that was just asking for an invasion of some sort or a kidnapping.

[[OOC: Open, but thread with Chad and Ted locked to them please!]]

Forget the tomatoes. It was probably the weird cravings for putting Tabasco on everything that would raise a few alien-possibility eyebrows. Chad was running a little late, but he had to take Prince Oscar Pedro back to the dorms because he'd sort of forgotten that detail but, finally, he closed up the shop early and headed over, spotting Teddy when he came in and bending over for a quick kiss on the cheek. "Sorry I'm late."

And a real kiss was a good way to get Chad to forget about worrying that he'd screwed up. The kiss was followed quickly by a grin. "I had to work," he reminded him. "And an orphan can only get away with the 'death in the family' excuse so many times before people start to figure it out, you know."

There was a long, thoughtful pause, where, slowly, the suggestion was making itself known in a revelation to Chad. But then it faded quickly with slumping shoulders. "'Course, that'd be banking on Melody never really knowing you, 'cause I don't think it would work if she did," he commented, taking to lightly steering Teddy along with him as they were being lead to a table.

"Yeah, but, how the hell is anyone going to actually manage to kidnap you?" Chad asked as he took a seat, trying to see if he could prove himself wrong in trying to think of how even he could conceivably do it and falling short.

Chad took a moment to consider this, before, with a grunt, nodding. He figured he'd be pretty to kidnap if someone threatened Prince Oscar Pedro. Or if they just bludgeoned him in the head. Twice, probably, though.

"That works. I'll add it to the list of excuses."

See, but that would make sense, and it relied on Chad actually remembering things like needing certain nights off earlier than the morning of, which rarely seemed to happen.

Instead of responding, he just cleared his throat, following Teddy's example and reaching for a menu. "So what sounds good?"

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-01 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
With a grunt, Chad peered through his hair, over the menu, toward Teddy. He wasn't going to say anything. He was going to let that look attempt to say it.

Which might be difficult, considering Chad had about two looks, but this was Teddy here. If anyone knew Chad's looks, it was Ted.

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-01 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
In fact, briefly, if you looked carefully and before Chad ducked his head toward the menu again, there was one of those rare other looks, as Chad cracked a small grin toward Teddy. Fleeting, but it was there.

He kept the answer he was thinking to himself. Instead, after a moment, he said, "Eggrolls. Lots of 'em."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-01 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Chad nodded in approval. "And rangoon."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-01 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Chad flipped the menu to the back with his brow knitting thoughtfully. "Do they do sushi at all here?"

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-01 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Unagi sounds good right now," Chad grunted, scanning the menu some more. "If anyplace has it, it'd be here, right?" There was a mutter there as he continued looking, something about "Cafe Fina" and "wasabi," which, ironically, seemed to be turning Chad's face slightly in the shade of the latter.

Chad's eyes shifted slightly as he considered this option. "...True. That works."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-01 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Chad, also, glanced up. "A weekend, huh?"

See, he knew how to focus on the important parts.

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-01 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Nah, I guess I could handle a weekend."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-01 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"What if I couldn't?" Chad asked, failing to block the napkin but, come on. It was a napkin. And it was his now, so he hoped Teddy didn't plan on ordering anything messy.

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-01 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"Wouldn't I just want to say that I couldn't just so I could just practise more?"

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-01 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"...no," Chad said, his rumble slowly reasoning. "I haven't said anything one way or the other yet."

Pause. He glanced slightly toward the right before looking back and leaning over the table. "...Have I?"

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-01 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"I think I might," Chad admitted with the lightest hint of a grin. "Can never be too prepared."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-01 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Chad wasn't quite sure if Teddy could have a kiss after that comment. He leveled a gaze toward his boyfriend that said as much before commenting, "I could totally rock those shorts if I had to."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-02 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, okay. Teddy could have his kiss. Chad grinned lightly, feeling a little bad for the poor table having to bear the brunt of his weight as he leaned in. "Good."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-02 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Only," Chad offered, "if they're coming right off."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-01-02 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Chad shrugged a shoulder. "Usually does. Complaining?"
