Our Lady of Fandom, Wednesday all day

Gabriel contemplated going out to buy donuts. He had coffee, and something was lacking. It might just be that the Bible commentary that he had found wasn't amusing enough though. The Cat lay on the altar, eyes half closed, watching the ex-archangel.

[The church is open]

You'd think she'd learn by now. But... nahhhh...

Annette came in, parked her butt in a back pew and stared forward. She had some praying to do. It was just that she was considering her options in how she wanted to pray. And the problem was, was she even sorry enough to pray for forgiveness?

Dratted thoughts and... crap.

She saw the bit of fluff coming towards her and yeah, she was a sucker for cats. "Well hey kittykitty. Don't tell me that mean man up there own's a pretty thing like you? Because... uuuugh." She reached her hand down in an attempt to scritch the cat behind the ears.

"Awww, you're a sweetheart," she smiled and leaned even more to run her hand back over the cat. "Can I hold you? You can just sit in my lap while I think about why I'm here." Annette shifted a little in an attempt to pick the cat up.

"There's nothing wrong with my lap; it's comfy. Promise." But Annette had read in a cat book or online somewhere, that cat's were finicky. If she had to judge according to Angel, then that was most certainly true.

"I can't stay long," she said to the cat. "I have to think quickly and just get this overwith. It's trying, you know? Am I sorry, am I not sorry... back and forth back and forth until my mind is just incapable of coherent reasoning. Silly, I know..."

Lucky for the cat, Annette carried with her kitty treats. Being a cat owner, she just knew it was important to keep them close at hand. Especially when you tried to train your cat to walk on a leash. Hmm. Which actually kind of sucked.

"I read that purring is a sign of contentment," she dug into her purse and pulled out a little zipper bag of salmon treats. "Can you imagine human's purring?" she reached down to put a couple in front of the cat. "Not that I would be purring right now because I've been slightly wicked thus not content." She paused, tilted her head and thought about that.

Cat got more treats because the more Annette talked, the more Annette just kept tossing them to the cat. And Annette could ramble, oh yes. She kept it up until she realized that she had no treats left. "...and I just don't know if I can be sorry for it, you know? I can't even muster the tiniest bit of guilt -- oh, oh, no more treats..." she looked down at the cat with wide eyes. "Uh-oh. Did you eat all of those? Um. Please don't get sick." Annette was already standing, ready to bolt, ready to declare that she didn't do it.

Annette smiled, pleased. "At least you won't be hungry for dinner, uh? I got to go! Stuff to do! Bye kitty!" With that she turned and walked out, forgetting all about praying for anything.

Well... not exactly forgetting. She was a good person after all. Sure she was.
