Our Lady of Fandom, Friday all day

Gabriel was sound asleep on one of the pews, while the Cat was equally sound asleep on the altar.

[The church is open]

Romeo had been in Fandom for near on two weeks, and not entered the church once. Unable to make any more excuses to himself about that, he finally entered Our Lady of Fandom Friday after classes, finding it empty save a man and a cat snoozing on pews.

Ah wel;l, he'd seen priests sleep before.

"Father?" he tried, standing over the man.

[OOC: Heading to work and probably won't be back for a few hours, just wanted to tag in before I forgot again.]

Romeo was confused, both by the snarl and by the fact this priest seemed to know his name.

"I meant no harm!" he said, trying to smooth things over. "Did Friar Laurence send you word I would be in? I am know well it ought to have been sooner."

[OOC: Yaaaay!]

Still perplexed, Romeo rummaged in his backpack. "I have a banana," he answered, offering the browning fruit and a frown.

"Came I to the wrong place? Is this not a church? I wished to -" he didn't honestly want to make confession, at least not to this priest "- meet you," he finished, a little lamely.

Romeo took a seat in a pew across the aisle, still frowning. Belatedly, he wondered what kind of church, or priest, would exist in Fandom.

"I am new in town," he began. "I have always gone to church, and I hoped to continue that custom here. I wanted nothing today save to make my introduction, though in time I may crave your counsel." he gestured to himself. "As you seem to know, I am called Romeo."

Romeo stared back at the cat. No fish.

"Do it yourself?" he asked. "I can clean the church, if it is what God wishes, but I've never been to a service without a priest." He frowned, trying to make sense of it. "Art thou a janitor?"

Shrugging, and deciding the church was no stranger than the rest of town, Romeo went up to the altar, saying a brief prayer -- Juliet, Mercutio, Mother -- over each of the first three candles he lit. After a pause, he said a prayer for himself with the fourth.

"Is that all you wish today?"

Romeo sighed and went to find cleaning supplies. "Karal?" he asked, now sweeping the dust from the floor in large, energetic strokes. "I have met him."
