The Park: Friday, around noon

The park was somewhere Coraline had yet to explore, which was why she was there. She'd been hoping to find a squirrel or two to ask them about radio, but she'd been distracted by the sundial.

It was making some very odd chiming noises, so, of course, she had to go and find out why it was making those noises.

Coraline had very little warning when suddenly it exploded. She ducked down low, watching, eyes wide, as part of it went sailing over her head.

The explosion didn't seem to have harmed the sundial, and Coraline eyed it suspiciously, waiting to see what it was going to do next.

Luke was out for a run when he saw a familiar figure.

"Coraline!" he called. "I need to apologize."

"The sundial exploded?"

Easily distracted, that Luke.

"Happy sundials stay in one piece," Luke agreed, nodding. "Just when I think this place can't get stranger..."

"Because I was incredibly rude on Saturday," he said, cheeks turning pink. "I'm normally not that whiny and annoying, I promise."

That stopped Luke short. "Yes? Pretty sure, anyway. I'm never that short-tempered."

"I wish," Luke said wryly. "I just felt terrible and I picked up on everyone else feeling terrible and I was just this giant...bitchy...emotional barometer."

"I'm a Jedi," Luke said. "It's kind of part of the package."
