The Perk, Saturday Morning

A familiar form strolled past the windows of the Perk, paused, then backtracked towards the door. The staff held their breath (and their coffee).

The door opened. They edged away.

Leeloo stuck her head in.

They shoved coffee at her. "Coffee?"

She cocked her head curiously. Paused. Then beamed. Broadly. "Co-fee!"

The staff backed away further. She launched into an indecipherable rant of epic proportions, and bounced in.

Coffee?! Coffee!!!

A five-inch-high insane fairy zipped into the Perk, and began bouncing exuberantly at the staff. "No! Make it bigger! I can totally carry it! And I need some espresso! Pleeeeeeeeeeeease?!"

"I know, coffee is great!" Rikku announced, pumping a fist in victory. "I like mochaccinos and lattés but espressos are best when you just wanna pick up and goooooooo. They're tiny but they're perky! Just like me!"

"You can have some of mine!" the fairy enthused, zipping over and placing a small cup on the table in front of Leeloo. "Espresso is awesome! It's a little strong but it gives you a real kick you know!? But I shouldn't have too much, 'cause then I get hyper!!"

"Hey! Miss Fairy-thing! Smile!"

Rikku was being photographed.

Rikku posed, like the drama-tastic little thing she was. "Cheese!"

Jimmy took a number of pictures. "Awesome! Thank you, Miss!"

Coffee. He could really use some coffee right about now. (And really, the novelty of someone else getting him coffee was always too good to pass up.)

Jimmy Olsen took a picture of the shop's interior, then got a cup and sat down at a table by the window. Maybe it'd help him figure out what was going on.

That? Deserved another picture.

"Yeah, zoom. Uh, zoom?" Jimmy blinked at her. "Are you talking about the fairy thing, or are you high on something, miss?"

"Yes, she does." Jimmy rubbed his forehead painfully. "Yes, she does."

Food was of little matter to Lust, the power of the philosopher's stone was all that he needed, but people came here. Interesting people, maybe. Doubtfully. The ones worth his attention were very few.

He wasn't wearing the blue uniform that the human used to love, but had changed it for black clothes and gloves. The chill outside didn't affect him at all so he left his shirt unbuttons, the ouroboros easy visible.

Lust raised an eyebrow and came to a stop a few steps away from Leeloo's table. "Yes," he said simply, wondering exactly why the human was talking to him.

"No," Lust replied, tilting his head as he wondered if this human was simple or what. There was something else, though. Something he couldn't quite understand and that reminded him of a time before the red stones. "Zoom?"

After spending the early morning with Adah, River had decided to walk into town. She smile to herself. Something odd was happening this weekend, she was sure of it.

Entering the Perk for her usual coffee and apple cake, she saw a face that was familiar with a mind that wasn't. Still, that wasn't a reason not to say hello to a Kerrigan-lookalike. She waved.

River tilted her head and smiled. She wandered over to the table and slipped on to the chair opposite the woman, ignoring the spilled out coffee. "The difference between sweet warmth and painful burning is sometimes subtle," she said.

Very different from Kerrigan. Innocent, like a newborn. River sipped her own coffee, ignoring the dripping. She pushed the plate with the apple cake towards the woman, making a path through the pool of coffee. "I'm River."
