The Arms Hotel Lobby, Wednesday [1/23]

Hoshi was feeling better now that the belly button piercing was gone. Of course her alternate self had to screw that up so that it got infected. Oddly enough, Hoshi had gotten rather attached to the idea and was planning to get a new piercing (done by someone who knew what they were doing) before her next trip home.

Gunther acting really weird today, ranting on and on in German about a dog and a beret, so Hoshi slipped into the kitchen to make sushi. Eventually, Gunther calmed down enough to learn how to make it himself.

G’Kar stepped into the lobby of the hotel. What strange weather to arrive in. He idly wondered if the storm he’d piloted his ship through last night had anything to do with discovering himself on an island upon waking.

He’d spent some time wandering the streets of this town, and spotting the hotel sign, decided that he might want better accommodations than what his ship offered. Not that he didn’t like it, it just was...well, it became a bit cramped after a while.

G’Kar approached the woman behind the counter. “Excuse me? I’d like to acquire lodgings.”

G’Kar seemed to be considering this. “A few days. Perhaps longer.” He looked to be debating something before asking, “Might I inquire as to where exactly we are?”

Fandom Island. He'd never heard of that colony before. Perhaps the humans had discovered another planet to colonize? But the year had him puzzled. If she were speaking in terms of standard Earth time, that would mean...

He just stared at her blankly. "2008? By which calendar?"

Gregorian. G’Kar was not familiar with that one. Perhaps it was a species he’d not yet encountered. What was a Gregorian? What did one look like?

He pondered this for a moment, then asked upon further thought, “Is that–-human? What is the standard way in which Earthers mark the passage of time?”

That...did not sound good. Sure, he'd set out to see how far the universe could go, but this? Travel back into the past? Was such a thing even possible?

With the vastness of the universe, one could never tell.

“Hrm,” he spoke wisely. “It seems that I may have traveled quite far indeed.”

"Yes, that will do quite nicely. Thank you."

He did look at her curiously though. “Were you also...” he searched for a way to describe it, “brought into the past? Or was it merely finding yourself on a strange island?”

The money G’Kar didn’t have any issues with. Unless...he cringed inwardly. He could only hope they used some standard form of credits, like he already had. Guess there would be only one way to find out.

“I see. Then it would seem you and I are both travelers through time.” His eyes lit up for a moment in amusement. “The last calculations I had, put me roughly 260 years into the future from this moment.” He paused briefly. “Give or take a few years,” he smirked.

He took the key, smirking at her. “I believe I am well versed in the ways of ‘wacky’ individuals.” He wouldn’t be thinking of a particular Centauri, oh no.

“Thank you for all your assistance.” He gave her the usual Narn greeting, clasping both fists to his chest and bowing slightly. “Perhaps we should speak again sometime?”
