Ino showed up like she'd said she would, sometime during lunch. It had taken her longer than she'd thought it would to make herself walk past Kabuto's door. Her hair was down ignore the icons! though and she looked tired as she went up to the counter and leaned against it.
"I'm here," she said, though really, that was obvious.
She would eat later, but probably not much. Ino glanced around the diner. "This is the first time I've been here on a Saturday," she offered, figuring she should at least try to make conversation.
She raised her eyebrows, glad to be thinking about this and not, well, you know... "I've been to festivals and things like that, you know. There is a difference, I'll admit, but it all does the same thing."
Ino didn't know what to say to that. "I don't think anyone here will care if you like cooking," she said instead, "you're more likely to wind up feeding half the school than anything else."

"Got that idea from breakfasts in the common room. You'd think no one ever made them pancakes before."

It was possible he was deliberately keeping her distracted.
