Wellspring Arms & Meditation Centre, Wednesday

Ino was in a bit of a Mood when she showed up to work. Forced introspection--especially when dwelling on her own mistakes--never sat well with her. Dusting and sweeping was done perfunctorily and while her plants garnered a bit more of her attention her heart wasn’t in it.

Flipping the sign to Open, Ino disappeared into the back of the shop. Today was a meditation day. Or possibly she’d practice her shooting stance. Whichever she felt more like at any given moment.

Wellspring Arms is Open.

Upon walking down the stairs and taking a glance at the store, Cable was vaguely starting to wonder if Ino was picking up some of his habits. He stood still at the bottom of the stairs, Tether by his feet, and listened.

A few more paces and he was in the doorway, considering the scene. "You might want something material to focus on," Cable noted, mostly to call her attention.

Tether skittered past Cable's legs into the meditation room, his attention caught by Ino's face as he leaned towards her.

"Something material," Cable repeated, nodding his head faintly at the candles kept in the corner. "Or training."

He nodded. Once. Cable, of all people, could understand that one. He didn't need to ask why.

He listened to the radio. "Pick something off your list." Allowing her the courtesy to choose, just for once.

Tether licked at Ino's face in response.

Cable regarded her silently for a moment, then suddenly turned around and walked out of the room, into the shop.

Tether stayed. He curled up against Ino, pressing his side against hers.

"Have you ever used one of these?" There was a man with a spear standing in the doorway. Cable, of course.

"Tether."

He motioned at the dog. Repeated the name. It took a few tries, but finally Tether realised it was him who was being addressed and skipped merrily away from Ino.

"Catch," he told Ino, throwing the weapon at her.

"You didn't," Cable replied, smirking slightly as he continued, "What is, is."

He reached past the door, picking his own up from where it leaned against the outside wall.

"You start with what is," Cable replied, strolling into the room, "Accept it. Everything else that happens is on you. You move on or do something about it."

He struck up a loose position, gripping the spear so one hand held it by his shoulder, the other down by his waist.

"The only thing you can do is to stop pontificating on the past, consider the variables, and act," Cable said, following her flinch and subsequent mimicing carefully. "Feet lined up with your shoulders."
