Luke's Diner, January 31 (Thursday)

Don't ask why Yitzhak was reading Elizabethan plays today. He just happened to have a stack of them on the counter beside him today, and couldn't be bothered to look up. Unless, quite possibly, you threatened to go to his apartment and do something horrible to his wigs.

Then it was on.

But for now, at least the kitchen staff was grateful to be left alone.

Today's Specials
Much Ado About Hot Dogs
The Meatloaf of Venice
A Midsummer Night's Cream Pie

The Help Wanted sign even looked like it had been aged up to look like parchment, but that was actually because the busboy had happened to be walking by with a pot of tea when Yitzhak "accidentally" tripped him.

Luke's is open, and rather literary today. Hey, all those men dressed up as women on stage? Those had been the days.

Walking through town after gun club, Romeo noticed the diner sign and felt oddly compelled to go in -- the sign reminded him of a business back home.

He went in and took a seat at the counter. "Good e'en, good ... person," he said.

[OOC: COULD NOT resist.]

Romeo was getting used to raised eyebrows.

"A dish of the meatloaf, may it please you," he said.

Romeo almost frowned -- he was used to servants who, if anything, could not shut up. But he understood the signs well enough.

"Ginger ale, should you have it," he said, taking a bite out of the mashed potatoes.

Romeo looked at the glass.

Then at Yitzhak.

Then back at the glass.

"I know not how I could drink this without dampening my shirt," he pointed out.

"A most brilliant solution, truly," Romeo told him, not even being sarcastic as he put the straw in the drink.

He took a bite of the meatloaf. "Whose recipe is this? 'Tis most excellent."

Romeo applauded briefly and went back to his meal.

He did, however, plan to leave a very nice tip.
