The Arms Hotel Lobby, Friday [2/1]

Thanks to Mary's advanced planning, the staff of the Arms Hotel ran like a well-oiled machine. Gunther was front and center today, greeting MercCon participants while anxiously watching for Bobby Flay and the crew from the Food Network. In the meantime, he had a mobile cook-top station set up in the middle of the lobby, whipping up some of his specialties so he'd be ready when Bobby arrived.

[Please use the threads below for checking in, lounging and mingling in the lobby, and so on. Additional MercCon activities will be going up in a separate post. You are more than welcome to mod the crazy German as my availability will be limited. Additional information about the Arms Hotel can be found here. I will be shutting off notifications shortly, so if you have any hotel questions, e-mail me at not.a.showgirl@gmail.com and I will get back to you as soon as possible. No, Bobby Flay will not be making an appearance, but Gunther refuses to believe that. ETA: And in my rush to post this and make my dinner reservations on time, I forgot that the check-in post was set to screen comments. It's been fixed.]

Without anyone actually see him arrive, Mr. Teatime was at the check-in desk. "Hello." he smiled.

Leon presented a piece of paper to the front desk, a potted plant in his other hand. His large wooden gun box was at his feet.

There was a cat, creeping about the lobby. He was wearing the most fantastic pair of boots, and his hat was most certainly dashing. The fencing foil that he carried about with him suggested that he was quite the skilled cat, as well.

Who would have thought?

Rude walked up to the cat and, without any other lead-in, asked, "Do you know a... Reeve?"

Jennifer leaned over to get a closer look at the cat. "Well, now, aren't you precious?" she cooed. "Who do you belong to?"

The sight of a cat, unfortunately, seemed to have the hamster in Minsc's hand squirming and squealing for quite a bit, much to the confusion of the battered warrior holding him. "What it is, Boo?" he asked the wriggling rodent. "Gnolls? Trolls? Big and bone crushing giants? What danger do you sense?"

Of course, it hadn't occurred to Minsc in the slightest that it might be the cat.

A lovely redhead walked into the hotel lobby, followed by a man in a leather jacket and gloves. He was carrying all the luggage, and he kept looking over his shoulder.

"Why are you so jumpy?" Natasha demanded. "This is a convention, it's supposed to be fun! A chance to unwind and share trade secrets."

A blonde woman wearing a black leather jacket was looking around the room, carefully. Next to her was a little girl, maybe four or five years old, with long curly brown hair, squeezing onto her hand and giggling. Beatrix was glad BB was excited about this. And ready to kill anyone who looked at her sideways.

MercCon. Good to be back.

Jennifer strolled around the lobby. She was glad to be out of North Korea for the moment, and determined to spend quite a bit of her hard-earned cash.

Weasel arrived early.

Very, very early.

It may have been possible he was making sure he got here long before any of his quarreling colleagues did. After checking in, he glanced around nervously, wondering how long Sandi was going to insist he socialise before he wouldn't be sent harshly away from AIM if he logged on.

Murdock scanned the quickly growing crowd. He'd ditched his earlier threads and now wore the usual leather jacket and ballcap. Which was currently on his head backwards. The t-shirt underneath proudly proclaimed 'I am God' in bright green letters.

Whether or not he was in a god-like mood today had yet to be determined.

"You have GOT to be fucking kiddin' me."

It'd been two minutes, and Taskmaster was still staring at the keys-- singular-- that he'd gotten from the German guy over at the check-in desk.

A very large man carefully cradling a small hamster in his large, calloused hands glanced around the place providing the accommodations for sleeping, giving it an appraising glance. His chest swelled up importantly as he smiled broadly. "You see, Boo?" he said to the hamster with brusque approval. "This? Is nice!"

The hamster continued to just nibble on his fingers.

"What'cha doin'?" asked a little girl, standing up on her tiptoes to watch.

"BB, don't bother the man when he's cooking, sweetie," Beatrix said, smiling a bit sheepishly at the cook. "Sorry."

Oh hey, there’s food! Murdock watched the chef with a careful eye, stroking his chin absently. “Yus doin’ tha wrong,” he mocked in a very French accent.

Jack was wandering around, and found himself in the hotel. Lots of people. Whole lot of people. Wow!

Cooking demonstration? Even better! Jack watched, his stomach rumbling.
