Wellspring Arms & Meditation Center, Friday

There were mercs on the island! Or would be soon! Or maybe they were here already! And one of them had a chopper that Reno was going to borrow!

This was so cool.

So Rikku was bouncing behind the counter of the Wellspring Arms. Wondering what the protocol was for selling weapons to visitors. Hey, she'd figure it out, right?

She is hyper, and she is near guns. Happy times.

"Rikku."

After running into Weasel in the morning (and having received the brochure months ago), Cable had the purposeful air of someone who knew exactly what was going on.

In other words, he looked like Cable.

"Hiya!" Rikku waved. "Did you hear people are coming in? Isn't that awesome!?"

"I did," Cable replied, closing the door behind him and letting Tether skip into the store. "If anyone comes in to order anything, find out what they want, then have them contact me. I'll be opening the store on Sunday to deliver any orders."

"Deal," she said with a nod. "Are you going? To all of the stuff going on?"

"No," Cable replied, decisively. "I haven't played that game in a long time."

"Game?" Rikku raised an eyebrow. "I thought you were a merc."

Cable smirked faintly. Maybe vaguely nostalgic. "Not any more," he said, and moved towards one of the gun cases.

"Oh." She chewed her lip. "So ... why'd you stop?"

"I had more worthwhile things to do," Cable remarked, checking over the contents to see everything was in order.

"Like this?" Rikku asked. "I, uh. I kinda get the feeling ... you don't have this place to sell people guns. But you kinda have it not to sell people guns. You know?"

"Like other things." He moved on to the next, quietly studying it. "That's one way of looking at it."

"Do you miss it?" she asked, hoping she wasn't pushing it here.

"Sometimes," Cable replied, without as much as looking in her direction.

"Hi! I'd like to buy a gun." A big one. Not that he's compensating, of course."

Rikku sighed. "And what'd I tell you last time you wanted to buy one?"

"That I should bring money?" he asked hopefully. "And that I could buy as many as I could carry?"

"Wowwww," Rikku giggled. "You're not very good at this, are you?"

"Sure I am," he said defiantly. Okay, so the poker face didn't hold long. "But I'm in the Girls with Guns club! How can I be in the club and not have a firearm?"

"You should've thought of that before you signed up," she giggled.

"But...I'm thinking of it now!" he insisted, totally not laughing. Not even smiling. Really. Yuh-huh.
