Movie Sign Theatre 3000, Wednesday Evening

Troy grinned at the marquee as he and Sky walked up. "Oh, hey," he said. "I haven't actually seen this yet! I never had a chance when it was in theatres.

Sky also looked up at the marquee, smiling in spite of himself.

"Oh, this movie? I loved it when I was a kid... it'll be nice to see it in an actual theatre again."

"Yeah?" Troy said. "Cool!" He grinned. "So, there were all these rumours about how they had to digitally decrease his... uh." Troy cut himself off. "Not that I ever thought about that at all."

Sky stared at Troy, dumbfounded, before he realized what he was talking about.

"...I never heard that myself," he said simply, rubbing the back of his head.

"... Yeah," Troy said, deciding to finish the story. "People were saying that the only reason he got cast was because the director wanted him." He shrugged. "But, I mean, it was only rumours, and people will say anything if they think other people will listen."

"This is true," said Sky. "Well, shall we go in?"

"After you," Troy said. "Looks like the movie's going to start soon."

Sky found himself feeling like a little kid again as the movie began.

Troy, sitting beside him, couldn't help but notice the sudden change in body language. Clearly, this movie was a good choice. "So, it's a sequel, right?" he asked, before the movie really got going.

"Er, sort of, I think," said Sky. "The originals were made way before my time. I've never seen them."

"Oh, really?" Troy said, quickly, as the movie was starting to pick up. "We'll have to rent them, then, and watch them some night. Maybe this weekend."

Sky nodded. "Yeah, we should. If I'm not too busy studying." He was only half serious. Maybe a little more.

Troy laughed. "Well, you need to take a break from studying at some point, right? If you want to have fun -- oooh, look at what he's doing with that plane! -- then you're going to have to relax every once in a while."

"Yeah..." Sky sighed, hating that he was talking about slacking. He'd done enough of that thus far. But then the movie caught his attention, and his mind wandered... back to himself, 3 or 4 years old, and his father... An almost dreamy look came across his face.

Troy slowly found himself looking less and less at the movie screen, and more and more at Sky; the expression on Sky's face had caught his attention, for the openness he now displayed was greater than anything Troy had seen, or expected to see.

Almost unconsciously, his hand reached over to grasp Sky's.

Sky would definitely not object to the hand-holding. This movie was bringing back a lot of happy memories, and while his pain and confusion and anger of the past... well, month, but especially week... had not entirely gone away, it somehow seemed lessened. It was a good feeling.

Troy couldn't help but smile more widely himself when Sky didn't object to the hand-holding -- not that he'd expected Sky to object, but he hadn't assumed he wouldn't, either -- and he gave a little squeeze, a gesture of presence, of connection.

He leaned in a little, too, over the armrest, although just enough to bring their shoulders together, not enough that he was leaning his head onto Sky.

Sky looked at Troy, his smile unwavering. He had not felt this completely content in quite a long time. In fact, he wasn't sure he'd ever felt like this, or at least not this strongly, not even the times he'd been with Dru.

Troy, sensing no hesitation, no pulling back from Sky, leaned in a little more, so that his head was resting against Sky's shoulder.

Sky might have leaned in a little bit closer when Troy did this, almost on impulse. He felt almost as though he were in a daze.

How did this happen? he wondered, then... Does it really matter?

Settling in properly against Sky, Troy focused his attention back on the movie...

Barney had cash to blow and nothing worthwhile to do in Fandom. A trip to the movies won out. He found a seat in the back.

As the movie progressed, he felt the oddest sense that he really knew this superhero. Apparently his repression wasn't strong enough.

Joanna peered into the darkened theater, sunglasses still on in case in hopes of not being recognized. She spotted Barney in the back and silently slid into the seat next to him.

"You said no one would be here," she hissed, glaring at the other movie goers.

"And I thought you were looking for some exhibitionist fun times," Barney whispered back, sliding a hand onto her thigh.

Joanna slapped his hand away. "What kind of woman do you think I am?" she snapped.

Then in a lower voice added, "There are perfectly good restrooms out in the lobby."

Barney wasn't discouraged; he knew she was a sure thing.

"I could be persuaded," because it would take much. "Are you wearing the red thong?"

"Don't be ridiculous," she said, then thought better of it. "Okay, you are always ridiculous. How about trying to just not be you. I would enjoy this so much more.

"I never wear the same pair of panties twice," she clarified. "I donate them to charity."

It was actually a surprisingly large tax write off.

"I find your charitable nature incredibly hot," Barney replied, leering at her and ignoring that bit about not being himself.

"Don't kid yourself," she said, lifting up the sunglasses and looking right at Barney. "You find everything about me hot."

"You're fire JoJo, and I'm the fireman come to nail you to the wall," Barney retorted.

"I'm going to need you to put your mouth to some other use than talking," she replied dryly.

"And if I enjoy myself, I'll buy you a real fireman's outfit and we'll put that statement to the test."

Barney remembered the kissing rules from their last restroom excursion. "I think I can handle those limitations," he grinned.

Barney grinned, and stood to follow her. He loved when things worked out properly. He may have pumped his arm in victory behind her back.

Joanna walked in and headed for the furthest stall. She didn't look back. She could tell from the dog-like panting that Barney was right behind her.

Barney was hot on her heels, but would argue there was no panting. He was in excellent shape. Some might say he was ripped.

Smart man that he was, Barney kept his mouth shut, lest she changed her mind. JoJo was fickle, after all.

Joanna waited for Barney to come open the stall door, as she wasn't going to touch it.

And after the door was firmly secured, she turned toward him, rolling her eyes at his apparent anticipation.

"Down boy," she ordered.

That third stall would be occupied for a while...

Because the world can't end with ~~Superman~~ Uber-Man on the job!
