Okay! Rikku was here! And opening the shop, totally almost on time! Hey, she'd been up late, okay? And she wasn't that late. Honest.

She hoped Romeo remembered about the Hawaiian shirt. She totally had to see that. She'd have to look into those, they sounded funky.

And the Wellspring Arms and Meditation Center was totally open. A lot.

"Oh. Oh." Rikku nodded quickly. "I, uh. J-jenny? Sparks? She, uh, yeah. Same ... thing. We kinda ... it was just a thing and it so doesn't count, right? Yeah."

She blushed again, fussing with her hair. "Yeah. Bright red, hard to miss. He's ... he couldn't be more different, from Jude, and I wasn't expecting it. At all. Just kinda ... happened." She thought for a moment. "Maybe that's okay, yeah? With the feet-wetting and all."

"It completely doesn't count," Romeo said firmly. Because it couldn't, right? "And I like Jenny, though I may know her less well than you."

He played with his drink as he thought about what Rikku said. "Foot-wetting is good," he said. "I may need to talk to Reno, though. I should not like him to hurt you."

"I don't, uh." Blush. "I don't know her very well, aside from the ... thing that didn't happen, bit. Deal. Uh."

She waved slightly. "You really don't have to. I'm fine, honest, we're just ... you know. We're not really sure what's going on but he's been totally up-front about it. He's ..." She considered for a minute. "I know this sounds crazy, but he's ... he does this and that with people, fine, but I think maybe he's a ... sort of a nice guy, in a way. Like, he's decent about it, not the kinda guy who's manipulative or lying or ... whatever. That makes no sense, does it?"

"No, it does," Romeo said. "He might be a rogue, but an honorable one? That's better than one who claims honesty and deceives you."

"But I should still like to talk to him."

She nodded quickly. "I think it's ... weird for him, too. I dunno. He's ... like you said, honorable. And ... you don't have to, but ... it's sweet. Thanks." She smiled, blushing. "Do I need to go talk to Brooke? I haven't, 'cause ... I kinda don't know her?"

"I would not know what you should say, if you did go talk to her," Romeo admitted. "I like her, but she is in no danger of breaking my heart." Not right then, anyhow.

"I won't do anything that would embarrass you," he promised.

"Okay," Rikku nodded. "I'll just keep that in mind. And if she does break your heart I'm gonna knock her teeth out."

"No, no, I know you wouldn't," she said, waving slightly. "I just, you know. Feel silly, 'cause it's not like ... you know. There's anything or whatever."
