Wellspring Arms & Meditation Center, Monday

Tether bounded down the stairs into the shop early, Cable following close behind with a box in hand. Leaving the dog at the front of the shop after throwing on the Open sign, he vanished into the back room with the box for about fifteen minutes.

Another fifteen minutes, and plans for the day firmly settled in his mind, Cable sat down behind the desk with his laptop.

Ino didn't even know if Michael was talking to her but she showed up to see what Cable-san had figured out about her handling his powers during training anyway.

"Morning, Cable-san," Ino called as she entered the shop.

Cable glanced up. "Morning," he replied, pushing the top of his laptop down just a little.

Honestly, like Ino would even try to peek at his work, but whatever. She clasped her arms behind her back. "How are you, Cable-san?" Yay, inane chatter. Or something.

"I'm fine." He eyed her. "You're here about your friend."

She made a bit of a face, because really, who knew what they were at the moment? Friend worked though, she supposed.

Her chin went up slightly. "Yes."

Because she wasn't going to just give up.

Teen drama. That was the part he hadn't missed. "I can't tell you anything specific until I speak to him," Cable said, calmly. "His type of powers aren't unheard of in my universe. He needs the right training."

"Yes, he does," Ino said ruefully, thinking of her exploded mirrors yesterday, "I, I guess I'll tell him during class today that he needs to come and see you."

"No specifics, you said," Ino asked, "what about in general?"

"He should see someone about the anger issues," Cable deadpanned, pushing his laptop all the way shut.

She gave him as withering a look as she could. "He just needs more control."

"Which is why he needs training," Cable replied, calmly. The look slid by him like it was nothing. "That's all I can tell you."

"... you made me wait until Monday just to tell me that?" Ino looked slightly out-raged, "Cable-san!"

"There is only so much I can do without gauging the extent of his powers in person," Cable said, getting up out of his chair. "Loose information isn't useful. There's a lot of possible causes and mechanisms that could be involved with his particular skillset; I need to determine which."

She looked at him, knowing that made sense and still out-raged. "You couldn't have told me that before?"

Cable eyed her again. "I didn't know he was that explosive." Read: I figured he'd be here with you.

Ino huffed. "Neither did I," she admitted, "but I'm going to talk some sense into him, don't worry about that. I'll drag him here if I have to."

"Good." He shoved his chair back under the desk.

She grinned at him. "I can out-stubborn him any time."

"Which is always vital in a fight." Deadpan or serious; Cable's voice kind of fell in that in-between area.

"I think it is," Ino said, wrinkling her nose at him, "I mean, that way I'm not just going to give up and let someone else win. That's no way to go about living."

"Spoken like a warrior." Cable brushed past his desk.

"Well," Ino tagged after him, "that's not a surprise, all things considered. What do you think, Cable-san?"

"I'm a soldier, Ino..." He picked up two guns on his way towards the doorway-- a handgun and a far, far larger one. "I wouldn't have achieved anything if I didn't have persistence on my side."

Or as other people put it, if he wasn't irritatingly obstinate.

She eyed the larger gun with wide eyes. "So you do think it's a good thing?"

"Yes," he smirked, and offered her the handgun.

Ino grinned up at him as she took the handgun. "What kind of gun is that one, Cable-san?" Who knew? He might answer her--it wasn't like she was asking to try and use it or anything.

"A very large one." Which was the way Cable liked it, really. "Let's go." He gestured at the shooting range.

It was Monday. And what Monday would be complete without a skinny blond girl who sounded far too happy about it being Monday.

"Hello!" Triela called as she came into the store.

"Morning."

Without even looking away from his laptop, Cable reached down and put a box on the desk.

"Is that mine?" Triela asked. She didn't bounce excitedly, in fact she stood looking rather calm. But she sounded like she was bouncing excitedly.

"Yes," Cable replied, made a note of said verbal bounce, and finally glanced up to look at her. "None of this gets used outside of a range except during emergencies."

"Of course not," she blinked, almost sounding offended. "What did you expect me to do with them?"

"Teach the teal deer to dance," Cable deadpanned, then crossed his arms. "That's ~~handwavey~~."

"I'm not going to do something like that," Triela frowned. She was responsible!

"I was kidding," he replied, easily. "If that's all?"

"Unless you think you can manage to get me a C-10 cannister rifle from... whatever time Lieutenant Kerrigan is from."

"I don't have that kind of access." Which didn't mean Cable wasn't going to try, now.

"Okay then." Triela hefted her box with a grin and spun toward the door. "Thank you," she tossed over her shoulder.

Which can only be entered if you have Cable's prior permission.

As I have now decided to gauge my days by the first conversations that take place past 12 noon in them, today is raspberry muffins and Freud day. Thank you.
