Pixie Dust, Monday

It was almost Valentine's Day, and while Romeo's personal feelings about the holiday were mixed, as an employee he knew it meant selling a lot of lingerie and a lot of dresses for the dance.

He dressed half the window mannequins in scanties, and the other half in ballgowns, and arranged them facing off in a sort of dance or fight.

It looked perfect to him.

Pixie Dust was open.

River had stopped by the window, watching the arrangement of the mannequins. It made her smile, and noticing Romeo inside, she entered.

"Fight or dance?"

River nodded thoughtfully. "Long skirts are not something I recommend."

"Only if they're wide enough," River replied, seeming to take the subject quite seriously. "Can't have a dress like a trap." She smiled back.

Liir had promised he'd come by, and so he did. Around lunch time, actually. He brought with him a large bag and in his hands, two bottles of water.

"Hello," a smile. "I brought lunch for us both, if you don't mind. I could come back later if you'd already brought something."

"Soup and bread," he admitted, placing the bag on the counter as he started to unpack. Two bowls, spoons, two half-loaves of bread, the water bottles, and what seemed to be--

"A teapot," he admitted with a bit of a blush. "It was the best I could think of to carry the soup here. Luckily, the pieces should fit through the spout."

The last thing pulled out was a small bundle wrapped in paper.

"And the last three pieces of summer ice for dessert."

He uncovered the little powdered-sugar-coated cubes of gelatin.

"They're sweetmeats," he said, "mostly sugar, but with a bit of papay fruit and rosewater. They don't melt but they look a little like snow-covered ice."

He shrugged.

"That's what Sarima's sisters called them."

He seperated the bowls and started 'pouring' the soup.

Yurika was, quite frankly, sick of all the pink that this holiday entailed.

It was the non-pink scanty-things in the window, however, that caught her attention and sent her into the store. "Ohaiyo, Bell-sensei! I want something pretty!"

"Romeo!" she exclaimed, bouncing. "Sugoi! You sure she isn't drunk under the counter?" Dōjima asked, winking. "Maybe we should check her stash, make sure it's all there. For safe-keeping, of course."

"After I pick a pretty," she replied, glancing around the store. "Fashion choices must always be made sober. If you pick up a new friend while tipsy, no problem, easy to ditch. Clothes, however, are much harder to dispose of discreetly."

"Wanna help?" She flashed him a wicked grin and started browsing one rack. "A girl can always use the opinion of a cute boy with things like this."

Reno needed clothing that wasn't Turk-issue. He'd come to this conclusion sometime this morning, when he realized that his handful of white shirts were all dirty.

So what if he was putting off doing laundry? He had more important things to do, dammit. Like procrastinate on homework, studying, writing status reports to the boss...

"What's that all about?" He motioned a thumb in the direction of the kink-versus-rich-snot scene and raised an eyebrow. He'd never seen anything quite like that in his life.

... Though maybe now he'd like to.

"Depends who wants to know?" Reno glanced at Romeo for a moment, and then looked back at the mannequins. "You want them to be closer if you want 'em to be dancing. Otherwise it kinda looks like that one in the lacy slip is gearing up to kick that one with all the frills in the teeth, yo."

He looked back at Romeo.

"I know you from class, or that gun club, or somethin', right?"

Having weather in the negative double-digits ought to be illegal.
