Mary was in a really good mood. It could be that Valentine's Day was around the corner or it could be the extra money she made from selling an order of Gunther's mini cheesecakes. Either way, she was smiling.

Gunther was giving away the cookies for free. He was tired of seeing little hearts everywhere.

If no one booked the Stripper Pole Suite, she was claiming it for herself.

Chad and Prince Oscar Pedro were en route to grabbing some lunch and getting to work, when he made a slight detour. "So, what is the package...special....deal...thing?"

He figured he should probably be getting started on that whole...thing.

Mary had to look up quite a bit to make eye contact with Chad. "Basically, you get a room for a night and it comes with a bottle of champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, rose petals scattered on the bed, dinner for two by candlelight in our restaurant, and room service breakfast the next morning," explained Mary. "There's also upgrades to a suite or you can extend your stay through the weekend if you're interested."

Chad made a thoughtful sound in his throat; that didn't sound too bad. He glance toward Prince Oscar Pedro on his shoulder for the cat's opinion, but Prince Oscar Pedro didn't seem to be paying much attention, seeing as he caught a faint trace of Jeff's dog in in the air and was looking for her. Chad grunted again. "Not too bad," he decided. "Lot of people taking up the offer?"

He didn't want to do something that a lot of people might be doing, or anything. It should be something special, although, unless his memory was faulty (which it often was), it would be like revisiting last Valentine's Day, which would be pretty...good.

"Not yet," said Mary. "I haven't had any reservations."

Well, it was just Monday so far, but there was still the whole symbolic significance of when he and Teddy first...Chad cleared his throat a little. "Well, I guess now you've got one....That sounds good. Nice. Dinner an' everything, huh?"

"Pretty much everything you need for a little romance," said Mary, smiling. "Of course, if there's anything extra that you need, I can definitely set it up."

Chad was trying to think, but Prince Oscar Pedro had started butting his head against the side of Chad's. He'd realized that Nana was not here, and so he was bored, and wanted to get going to the music store so that he could play with the other kittens. This lady didn't seem interested in petting him, so he wasn't interested in staying. Chad let out an annoyed grunt, reluctantly reaching up to scritch behind his ears to placate him.

Now what the hell was the number they stayed in last time?

"Can I actually specifically request Suite ~~Handwavey because it was Handwavey last year~~?"

Mary was amused by Prince Oscar Pedro's antics. A part of her vaguely remember playing with other cats when she was a kitten herself thanks to Fandom weirdness.

"Certainly!" said Mary. "How long did you want it for?"

"Just through Friday morning," Chad decided, nodding. "I have to work at noon." Chad was very dedicated.

"And you'll be checking in on Thursday?" asked Mary, making a note on her clipboard.

"Yep," Chad said, still ear-scritching his kitten, who was purring almost loudly enough to cover up Chad's voice. "That's the plan."

"No problem. I'll have that suite reserved for you and you can check in anytime Thursday afternoon," said Mary, smiling.

Eve? Had absolutely no idea what to do for Valentine's Day. Which was exactly why she was stopping by to see Mary. Maybe Mary would have a suggestion.

"Hi Eve," said Mary, smiling. "What brings you in today?"

"Valentine's Day plans," Eve replied. "Or my lack thereof."

"Well, the hotel has a Valentine's Day package if you need ideas," suggested Mary. "It includes dinner for two plus an overnight stay with a room service breakfast for two the next morning. There's some extras thrown in for fun -- chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne delivered to your room, rose petals sprinkled on the bed. I can also set up anything else you'd prefer."

"Ooh, actually, that sounds really nice," Eve said. "I think Adam would like that."

"Would you like me to put down a reservation for you?" asked Mary. "I've got one reservation already for Thursday night, but other than that everything's open aside from the regulars who stay here."

Eve thought about it -- for all of half a second -- before nodding. "Go ahead and put one down."

"Sure!" said Mary. "Do you have any sort of room preference or floor preference?"

"Nope," Eve said. "Long as it's a room, we're good."
