Atlas Gym [early evening]

He wasn't used to having an extra day in Fandom--normally he was still up in Connecticut--so Anakin took advantage of the change by heading down to the gym and getting in a workout with his lightsaber and eight remotes.

Nothing too complicated for him, just a nice excuse to get the blood pumping.

After visiting with Xander, Dawn remembered that she was supposed to be meeting Professor Skywalker for her lesson. Also, having lived with Buffy, she figured not asking too many questions about his being kidnapped was probably a good idea.

So, there she was, in workout wear, and hair tied back. When she saw Professor Skywalker, though, she had to stop in the doorway and just watch.

Holy cow.

Anakin felt her enter and in a quick motion that was mostly habit at the point, ricocheted the next eight blasts back towards the remotes, flipping them off. "Hello," he said with a small smile.

"Wow." Which probably wasn't the best way to make an impression.

Anakin gave her a pleased smile. "I've been doing this for a bit," he said.

"How long?" She asked, trying not to be too obviously fangirly.

"Since I was about ten," Anakin replied. "Not with quite as many remotes though, obviously. I started out with one just like everyone else."

"Can Luke do that, too?" She asked, trying not to mope that she'd never be able to work her way up to a remote, or more than one remote, or a herd of remotes. "All the slayers are just kind of born to it."

Or thrust into it by a huge honking spell, but...yeah.

"Not quite as many remotes yet, but yes. Jaina can too." Anakin smiled. "It's useful for when people are shooting at us. It's not polite of them at all, really."

He shut off his lightsaber. "But we also have to work hand-to-hand combat, even though Jedi aren't exactly in the habit of going after each other with lightsabers."

Taking that as her cue, Dawn stepped up until she was across from Professor Skywalker. "Why not? I mean, it seems like that would be what you'd use most often?"

"We use our lightsabers all the time, but Jedi are the only ones who carry them."

They kind of made sure of that.

"Everyone else shoots at us." He grinned. "I don't know why they bother most of the time. Shooting at a Jedi only makes us wonder what you're hiding."

She started giggling. "Note to self: No shooting at Jedi."

Anakin gave her a little bow, still smiling. "On behalf of the Jedi, we say thank you." He gestured towards the practice blades. "Go pick one that feels good in your hand."

"Do I want something light, or heavy?" Buffy had always tended towards the heavier blades, because she had so much strength, but she was thinking maybe something lighter might work better for her. "Does it make a difference?"

She started test-swinging the practice blades, setting some aside immediately.

Deadpool cocked his head to the side, watching the wee tiny robots and the shiny shiny lightsaber go.

Oh, and Anakin's luxurious hair as it moved like a Pantene ProV commercial.

"That looks remarkably complicated for practice. Do they actually do damage?"

"If they hit, they hurt, yeah," Anakin said, grinning. "I haven't gotten hit in a while."

"Reeeeeaallly?" Now he had Deadpool all intrigued.

"Really," Anakin said. "My old teacher was fine until people shot more than 20 blaster bolts a second at him. I was faster."

"Can anyone play, or only fancy lightsaber having folk?" Deadpool asked, all hopeful like a kid on Christmas morning.

Anakin grinned. "Knock yourself out," he said, reaching into the Force to put the remotes on pause.

Beat.

"Not literally, if you can manage it."

"I'm less a fan of the whole unconscious thing, really. You never know who is gonna try and take advantage of you that way. My poor maidenhood," Deadpool replied with a horrified gasp.

And pulled a sword. And then another. He was a giant dork for his swords.

"Nice," Anakin said, eyes shining.

"I like to keep both hands occupied. Idle hands are the devil's playthings, you know," Deadpool told him seriously, twirling the swords like he was in color guard.

Anakin snickered. "I've heard something about that. I used to try wielding two lightsabers when I was younger but it stopped when I got a hand cut off."

Deadpool eyed his own hands now. "I just put 'em back on."
