Amber was a little tired this morning when she came into work. Late night of writing had her eyes sore and she was kinda headachey. But, be that as it may, she was busy bustling around the store, making sure everything was tidy and neat, before she settled herself behind the counter.

I'm freezing!

Billy was whistling the theme to an old saturday morning cartoon show when he came in. He couldn't help it, it was stuck in his head.

Amber saw him come in and gave a friendly wave from behind the counter. "Hi!"

"Hi there." Billy smiled. Pretty blonds were good for eliciting smiles. "How's it going?"

G'Kar finally made it to visit one of the last employees he hadn't met yet. He strode right up to the counter and smiled. "Hello, miss. I am G'Kar." Make sure to get the name out, right off. He really needed to break the bad habit of forgetting to introduce himself.

Probably because he'd grown so used to *everybody* knowing who he was during his time on Babylon 5.

"Great, thanks," she said. "Can I help you with anything?"

Amber seriously tried not to stare. Seriously.

It wasn't working very well.

G'Kar. Ohhhhhh, right. The email from Turtle about the new owner... and this was him and she was staring and oh my gosh.

"Hi. I'm Amber Atkins!"

"Hello Amber." He'd grown quite used to the stares by now. It really didn't faze him. "How are things with you today?"

"G-Great, thanks!" Amber just stared at a point right past his left shoulder. She didn't want to appear rude. "I really like workin' here Mr. G'Kar."

"If you were, hypothetically speaking, going to spend a long saturday evening with snacks, movies, and whatever people happened to drop by, what sort of snacks would you have?"

"That's good to hear." He sighed a little at her not-staring. "Tis perfectly all right. You can look all you want. I seem to be something of a novelty here." He smirked lightly. "I think I'm beginning to enjoy it, actually."

"Oh, I guess I would have Cheetos, pretzels, M&M's, popcorn, and plenty of soda," Amber said, just to name a few.

She cringed and met his eyes. "I'm so sorry. I don't mean to be rude. Oh gosh."

"As I said, it's all right. It does not bother me." He smiled a little. "I hardly think of you as rude."

"That sounds good." Billy nodded. "Maybe, some doritos and pizza rolls too."

"Thank you," she told him. Then Amber smiled. "Where are you from?"

"Perfect," she nodded. "Are you plannin' a party? And have we met? I'm Amber Atkins."

"My home world is called Narn. It is also the name of my species. It is very far away from here, in a different..." he searched a moment for the right word, "reality from this one. I doubt many people here have any knowledge of where I'm from."

"Yah, I have no idea, but I like learnin', you know, once I get over the wee bit of shock of seein' someone different," she said, eyes bright. "I'm from the small town of Mount Rose, Minnesota. I doubt you've heard of it, eh?"

"I'm Billy Kessler, nice to meet you." he held out his hand. "And I don't know if planning is the right word. I'm gonna have movies and snacks in the 4th floor common room on Saturday and kinda hope that people show up."

"It is not familiar to me, no. This Earth?" Because he knew that not all humans hailed from the same planet.

"Oh my gosh, yes, this Earth. I haven't been but to three states in the whole of my life, including Virginia," Amber chuckled.

"Oh, that sounds nice, Billy. Maybe I'll stop by if you don't mind?" she asked.

"I've only been to Earth but a few times. Though I have traveled to a number of other worlds as well." The vast majority of which did not even exist in this little corner of the universe.

"What brought you here to Fandom, if you don't mind my askin'?"

"Fate," he replied simply. "I think I was meant to be here." Then he smirked. "That's the diplomatic way of saying 'I crashed'."

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry," she said, upset now for asking. "You weren't hurt? Was anyone else with you?"

It seemed easy to upset this one for some strange reason. "Perhaps 'crashed' is too strong a word. I *did* lose my way and found myself pulled into a strange storm which somehow brought me here. But I was able to land safely."

He shook his head, "No one else was with me. My traveling companion and I went our seperate ways some time prior." Lyta. He vaguely wondered where she was now.

Amber was sensitive to others. Really. "Well that's good to know. The landin' safely. I've learned, just since the short time I've been here, that there are many people from various different places that are interestin' to talk to, yah. To me I'm just a normal girl, but to you, well I guess I'm strange, maybe." Pause. "Am I strange to you, Mr. G'Kar?"

"There are indeed many interesting people here," he agreed. "I have found all of them interesting to talk to."

Strange? Not so much. Flighty perhaps. In some ways, she reminded him of Vir. Somewhat always on edge, jittery and nervous; at least he had been when he was younger. But he grew out of it. G'Kar wondered if the same would hold true for this young woman.

"I do not find you strange. I must confess that despite my previous diplomatic experience, I have not had much interaction with young humans." The human teenager was turning into quite a fascinating subject for him. They were all so...twitchy. Each in their own way. He cocked his head slightly. "It has been an interesting experience thus far." Humans were indeed an interesting species.

"As have I," Amber said with a slight nod and smile.

"I'm lookin' forward to my time here, that's for sure. Meetin' other people from far off places I would have never considered in a million years; that's pretty amazin' to me and I guess I will take it with me when I do leave." Mr. G.Kar seemed to be a pleasant person and Amber did hope she could enjoy further interaction with him through her employment here at Turtle and Canary.

"Can I offer you a Squishy, Mr. G'Kar?"

"Of course I don't mind." Billy laughed. "What part of, 'kinda hope that people show up' was unclear?"
