Wonders of the World, Monday [2/25]

When Lucas arrived at work and settled in the ticket booth, he was surprised to find a box with his name on it sitting on top of the counter.

He stowed the box in his bag, deciding he could wait to open it until he got back to his room. Lucas had a lot of work to do. It was spring break, and there was sure to be a bunch of kids wanting to drive some souped-up go karts at high speeds while they didn't have to study.

Mod your gameplay, but be mindful! Lucas has added some extra umph to the go karts...

Sokka zoomed around the go kart track at breakneck speeds, whooping and hollering. He only just avoided killing himself several times as he skidded through the corners.

Buy some tickets, you know you wanna...

He might look a little greasy from messing with the go karts, but he's more than willing to chat!

Sokka walked in and looked around. "How long has this place been here?!?!?" he demanded.

"It's been here longer than I have." Lucas peered at Sokka, "At least last summer if the butler guy's to be believed."

"I am NOT that oblivious!!!" Sokka insisted.

Yes, he was.

"Then maybe it and I are both figments of your imagination," Lucas offered. "Stranger things have happened."

At least in Fandom.

"If you're just a figment of my imagination, then Discovery class'll be a lot less fun," Sokka pouted. "So how about you just sell me a ticket for the go karts, and I pretend you exist?"

"I think that's an arrangement I can live with," Lucas replied, pushing a go kart ticket toward him. "That's ~~handwavey~~. And be careful with the go karts, they're a little...faster than you might expect."

"How fast should I expect?" Sokka asked. "I mean, I've never driven a go kart before, but I was hoping they wouldn't be SLOW."

"Then you're in for a ride," Lucas promised. "They'll go at least ~~some handwavey unnatural go kart speed~~ when you top out."

"And that's a lot?" Sokka asked, having no real frame of reference for "mile per hour" except that a bus carrying Keanu Reeves does 50 of them.

"It's very, very fast," Lucas promised. He would hope none of the go karts would explode if they went too slowly, but there were no guarantees.

Sokka grinned. "All RIGHT!!!"

See, the world didn't end the day I left this off and now I'm really tempted to do it each week just to see...

Don't you dare.
