Our Lady of Fandom, Sunday all day

There was a note on the church door:

Do-it-yourself Sunday service

Gabriel sat on a pew munching on donuts and drinking coffee. He certainly wasn't going to share any of it if anyone stopped by.

[The church is open]

A boy walked in, put a bag of assorted cookies and another, smaller, bag of tuna down on the pew next to Gabriel and then made his way to the back of the church and sat down. He looked... somewhat strained.

He also had a bunny in a small pocket on the strap of his bag.

Liir didn't particularly care what the reaction was. He put his elbows on the pew in front of him, rested his head in his hands, closed his eyes, and breathed.

He pointed to where he'd placed it, on the pew next to Gabriel.

"It's for you. And the cat."

He'd thought that was obvious.

Inside the bag of cookies were hazelnut cookies with chocolate drops in the middle, orange cranberry cookies, and stained glass cookies in the shape of a circle.

When he heard the crinkle of the bag, he smiled. But otherwise, he just settled his breathing and enjoyed whatever strangeness of the air was particular to places of worship.
