"Hey, sweetheart," he said.

She leaned against the counter.

"How's your day going?"

He leaned his forearms across the edge of the countertop. "Boring. It's always boring here. Least it is until you walk in."

Johnny chuckled. "Cutie. So I was thinking... want to go out Friday night? Maybe catch a movie, have dinner?"

Savannah's face lit up. "Oh I'd like that, Johnny."

"Good, then it's a date. I don't take you out enough and I'm sorry for that," he said, ducking his head slightly.

Savannah shook her head and lay her hand on his shoulder. "Have I ever expressed any disappointment in that?"

He took her hand from his shoulder and kissed the back of it gently. "No, you haven't, but it's the boyfriend thing to do and I should do it. And I want to do it. I love you, sweetheart."

Savannah smiled. "I love you, too, Johnny and I can assure you that I think you've been a pretty great boyfriend." She gave him a grin. "But if you want to take me out, who I am I to argue?"

"I wouldn't let you argue, babe," he said with a smirk. "Besides, you like showing me off."

"Hells, there's no denying that you're hot, Johnny." She shook her head. "But I don't purposefully try to make you feel like I'm showing you off. I love being with you."

He grinned wide. "I know you do and no, you don't make me feel that way," though his ego liked to tell him different sometimes. "You have any classes today?"

She shook her head. "Not until Friday and my art class."

"Then we can stay up extra late tonight?" he asked, his eyes gleaming wickedly.

"As late as you want."

"As late as you can handle..." he waggled his brows.

"Good," Johnny said, taking his cup of coffee to take a sip. "I like when you like it," he smiled. "I do have class tomorrow though but it's nothing." Poor guy just wasn't very studious.

"Because I might be a little sleepy in class? Pfft, don't you worry there, sweetheart," he smiled. "I'm almost always sleepy in class."

Savannah laughed. "Good thing I'm not your teacher then," she teased.

"I'd hope you wouldn't fall asleep in my class." Her grin was wide.
