Kabuto settled in for another quiet night at the bar. Not that he missed the origami critters that a certain previous bartender always left around the place in the past, but it had at least been entertaining to turn them all into exploding tags.

Now, it was just him and Musubi on Wednesday nights. It was possible the Shiko-me wasn't particularly pleased with these arrangements. It was also possible that Kabuto didn't overly care if the demoness was pleased...

...In any case, the bar was open.

He let her. Not that Ino was actually, you know, sneaky enough to surprise Kabuto. "Hello, Ino."

"Ninja luck," Kabuto replied, deadpan.

She whacked him lightly on the head. "Honestly, geez," Ino rolled her eyes, moving so that she could sit next to him instead of standing behind him, "what kind of an answer is that?"

Kabuto shrugged. "Did you have a good day?" Ah, subject changing.

"Kinda sleepy," she admitted, "and kinda silly thanks to that. Cable-san didn't seem too interested in my idea to paint the store pink."

"..." Kabuto blinked. "Don't paint the store pink, Ino. It would look like that other Konoha ninja...the one with the forehead."

"Her name is Sakura." Ino rolled her eyes at him again. "And I'm pretty sure that you knew that already, seriously. And what's wrong with pink? It wouldn't clash with my plants."

"Pink is...well, if Cable-san allows you..." Kabuto trailed off. Whatever Cable wanted to let Ino do was his own choice. It just may or may not be a good choice.

"I did say that he wasn't too enthused," Ino pointed out, "so I don't know. It was just an idea after all. Something to amuse me."

"You're awfully easily amused," Kabuto commented lightly. "Why are you here and not sleeping, if you're tired?"

"I am," she admitted, "but it's more fun to be that way, don't you think?"

Ino glanced at him. "Because it's not late enough yet."

"Sometimes," the other ninja allowed. "And if you're tired, it's late enough. Go to bed."

Ino lifted her chin rebelliously. "Make me."

Wait, uh, that possibly wasn't the best thing to say to him when he really could make her.

Kabuto sighed. "If you want me to." He formed a few quick handseals, not giving Ino the chance to fight back. "Nehan shouja no jutsu!"

A scatter of feathers fluttered around Ino, then vanished, bringing with them a strong urge to sleep.

A strong urge to sleep on top of an already tired body was totally cheating.

"Cheater," Ino informed him as her eyes drifted closed, "not supposed to actually do it..." She gave into sleep, slumping against him bonelessly.

He'd better take her back to the dorms. Seriously. That'd be totally uncool of him just to leave her where she was.
