"Omigod my room was filled with pink poofing bunnies. It was unreal." She giggled and shook her head. "I turned on some salsa and we all danced. It was pretty cool and very effective in maintaining order. At least after I argued with them for a while."

"There was, like, an army of them in the common room. I sat in the middle of it all and wound up insanely multi-coloured. It was awesome." And a good thing she didn't have dust allergies. "Ha! I just ignored mine and when they wouldn't shut up threatened them with being locked in the closet forever. Since I'd trapped them for the whole day they listened pretty well."

"You have awesome shoe skills," she teased. "I'm impressed."

Annette paused, took a sip of her mocha.

"So, I heard radio last night. How was A.J. yesterday?" Because Annette had been too much of a chicken to go and see him.

"I don't let anyone run over me, much less my shoes." Ino declared confidently.

She glanced sideways at Annette. "He didn't want to talk. I had to talk him into letting me hug him, and then he showed me how to make milkshakes."

"No, me either," she said. Well the new her wouldn't. She didn't think. The old her let everyone run all over her.

"I see," she said, twisting her lips. "Hmm."

Ino gave her another glance, not sure if she should ask and then figuring, well, whatever, she'd deal with it if A.J. wasn't happy with her. "Do you know what happened? I mean, he mentioned something about being alone, so I figured it had something to do with Beauty but...?"

"Beauty left," Annette answered without preamble. "For good. She's gone and I guess he would figure he is alone now. He's not, he has all of his friends. But yeah, he girlfriend left..."

"Like... gone from the island, left?" Ino checked, "And not just 'breaking up with you, left? Wow. And you're right, he's totally not alone, but I guess I can see why he'd feel like that right now."

She nodded and it was rather solemn. "Gone from the island left. Breaking up with you left... it's most likely all the same to A.J.," she said. "Yeah, I understand why he feels like that," her tone here had shifted, and Annette looked down at her cup. Evidently Ino hadn't heard about the whole Adah and A.J. naked ordeal.

Ino eyed Annette. "Okay, what else is there that I'm missing?"

"What do you mean?" Annette could play innocent if she had to.

But then it had been on the radio, for public awareness. Right?

It was just that Annette didn't know the whole story and the more she thought about that, the more upset it made her.

The Look Annette got for that said exactly how taken in by the innocent act Ino was. Which wasn't much.

She sighed. "Fine. Okay. Adah and A.J., well, they were naked. Or at least Adah was... in front of A.J., after Beauty left." No, she supposed it wasn't any of her business, and that it was no big deal really, but it upset her like nothing has for a long time. Why? That is all she wanted to know. Why...

Ino blinked.

Then giggled.

"Adah and A.J.? That's got to be totally by accident."

"You think so?" Annette sounded all too hopeful. "Adah wouldn't clarify either way when I returned her bunny to her." Because Annette had been stupid and asked omigod.

"Oh come on, it's got to be," Ino insisted, "I mean, isn't Adah with someone else or something?" Ino really needed to listen to the radio more. "And yeah, A.J. wouldn't do something like that right when Beauty had just left, you know?"

"Yeah, I know he wouldn't. But what if she took advantage of his vulnerability, Ino? I mean, really, how well do you know Adah? I've been around her a few times and you just never know what she is thinking... or what she might be hiding. I tell you, if she played with him, I'm going to... well, I'm just going to be really upset."

"Well, she's not, you know, the kindest person," Ino admitted, "we've talked, well okay, I've talked and she's tilted her head at me a few times, but I don't think she'd do that. She might have found it funny a bit, but I don't think she'd have done it on purpose."

"Huh," Annette murmured. "She seemed amused. Innocent. But more amused. I wonder at that and for fear of upsetting A.J., who does not want to talk about it, I can't ask him. Now I will never know and it's bugging the crap out of me. A.J.'s like... I mean I wish... um, well nevermind. I just want him okay."

"It does sound like something she'd find amusing," Ino admitted, "but I still don't think it was, you know, planned or anything. That just sounds... off. Or something."

"Mmmmm." A long considering glance. "I want A.J. to be okay too."

"Yeah... it does. It's just pricking at me and I hate that feeling. You ever have something do that to you? I can't stand it," she said. "I guess it will just have to go away on its own because I won't bug anyone about it. Not really my place."

Which totally sucked.

"Yeah, I know what you mean," she said, thinking of a letter that she still hadn't answered, "and it's true, sometimes you've just got to wait it out and see what happens."

"I should take advantage of the meditation center because my patience level has always been low. I swear it, Ino, it sucks in a major way."

But enough about her, right? Even though she could go on and on and on about A.J.

"How's your boys?" she asked with a little wicked gleam in her eyes.

"You should," she nodded, "I swear it'll help."

Ino shrugged, blushing a bit at them being called 'her boys'. "Kabuto's a bit irritated with me, I think, 'cause I laughed at him--he got hit with the day when people couldn't speak right, you know? And I didn't. It was really funny. Michael's good."

She wasn't going to go into Michael's issues. Ino knew for sure that he wouldn't be happy if she did that.

"Hah, I would have laughed too at Kabuto. I'm sure he'll get over his irriation soon enough and slip back under that hard shell of his." Because that is exactly the way Annette saw him. Nothing ever seemed to affect him.

One word about Michael. Huh.

"They must feel like they are competing with each other. In a way, huh?"
