Around Fandom - All Day Thursday

These are possibly the tackiest things in existence.

No, don't blink when you say that.  The angels get grumpy when they hear things.

But they're just statues, right?  No need to worry.

Just stone statues...

[OOC: For today's abductees. Please title your comment with the time of day you want. Go here to ask someone to NPC for you or to give me pretty, pretty icons. For broadcast!]

Richie knew that heading back alone after dark was probably not the best idea. But he'd finished with the broadcast, finished with the rum, and the squirrels had started to make chicken noises. He was not getting mocked by squirrels.
So. Cutting through the park. In the dark. Slightly drunk. What's the worst that could happen, right? The squirrels will protect him.

Andrew wanted to pick up a few things for tomorrow morning's cooking session with Liir. He wanted to bake some cupcakes, but had something special in mind for Altra.

He was keeping an eye out for those stone angels, but he wasn't too worried. Back in Sunnydale, most things of that nature only came out at night. It was a pretty sunny morning.

Plus he had taken precautions. He patted his pocket reassuringly.

Andrew stopped. And stared. He hadn't actually thought he would see one.

"Hello there, angel statue thing," he said nervously, backing away slowly.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small leather bag, glancing down to make sure the contents were all still there.

Andrew noticed. "Oh, sure," he said. "Peekaboo. I like peekaboo."

He kept backing away. "Well, not really. I hate peekaboo."

He took a deep breath. "You don't say much do you?"

He dropped the bag between him and the angel and continued to back away, running through the summoning in his head to make sure he hadn't forgotten any of the words.

All things considered, Bridge probably should've skipped the early-morning run. But it's a nice enough day, he's got all this pent-up energy, and if he happens to spot an angel statue, well, he'll just run quicker.

Which causes him to do... the exact opposite of what he'd originally planned, and he slows down to take a closer look at it, frowning thoughtfully. One hand fumbles for the cell phone in his pocket, though. Just in case. The antenna catches in his pocket, though, and he glances down at it as he tries to pull it out.

Of course Andrew blinked. And then he might have squealed and he spun around to see where the statue had gone.

"Okay," he said loudly, pointing at the statue. "That is not cool! Not cool!" How had it moved that fast?

He scrambled backwards, eyes wide open. Then he started to mumble some very ancient words. The small bag began to smolder and tiny flames began to ignite the grass around it.

He glanced down to make sure it was working.

So last night I was poking around online looking for high-res widescreen wallpapers for my desktop now that I have a widescreen monitor for it.

AND THE FIRST SITE I CLICK ON HAS A BIG OL' WIDESCREEN WALLPAPER OF AN ANGEL STATUE AUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH. D: D: D:

It wasn't the flames that Andrew was banking on saving him here, it was what would be brought through the flames. If the descriptions were right, it should be about eight feet tall, skin as hard as stone, terribly powerful, and very ticklish about the neck.

Oh, and very strong and loyal to the summoner. He hoped. If he could get through the summoning, that is.

The flames were virtually roaring now, and Andrew continued to mumble. Of course, he had to close his eyes against the intense heat.

Oh, well.

"Gah!" Okaaaaay, the angel hadn't looked like *that* before. Now that he's got his phone out, he hits the speed dial while backing away from the angel.

Unfortunately, walking backwards means he can't see where he's going, and he trips over a tree root, sending his phone skittering off across the preserve floor while he ends up sprawled on the ground.

"AHHH!" Bridge flails, because holy crap teeth.

It's too bad no one told him not to blink, though. Oops.
