Around Fandom - All Friday
When would the silly humans learn that their puny weapons were futile against the much stronger angels?
Hopefully not soon.
It was oh so fun to play.
[If you want to futilely attempt to destroy a statue? It is right there. Just waiting for you. Go ahead. Try it. Go here to ask someone to NPC for you or to give me pretty, pretty icons.]

Around the Island
Re: Around the Island - The Park
She was staying close to the perimeter, if she could, and following the path, and she wasn't scared. Much. Really.
The bomb she was carrying helped with her nerves.
Re: Around the Island - The Park
It looked so serene, eyes hidden.
Re: Around the Island - The Park
Except what were the odds that there were a bunch of harmless angel statues, hanging around the good ones?
Right. She walked up to it, eying it, waiting for it to do something tricky.
Re: Around the Island - The Park
Always waiting. One look away. One turn of the head. A single flutter of her eyes and it would move.
Quickly, silently. It waited.
Re: Around the Island - The Park
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Stop it, Rikku. Shredding her nerves was not going to help. Pick a damn statue and blow it up.
Re: Around the Island - The Park
But silent, harmless. Yes. Harmless.
Re: Around the Island - The Park
She marched up to it, purposefully, kneeling by the base. "I have something for you," she announced cheerfully, setting down the bomb she'd spent the morning fine-tuning. "Little bit old-school, little bit of Spira goodness. I think you'll like it."
Re: Around the Island - The Park
Whatever the girl was doing was of no concern to the harmless stone.
Re: Around the Island - The Park
And then she jumped up, nodded, and jogged to safety. "Safety" being, "far enough away that I can blow this sucker to bits and not lose an arm."
She probably should have kept her eyes on the statue, instead of turning to run.
Re: Around the Island - The Park
Of course, it had moved when she turned her back and was reaching for her. If she was smart, she would run.
Re: Around the Island - The Park
It was closer. It was reaching for her. Now was not the time to argue.
She stumbled backwards, eyes wide. A few more feet. And when she'd put a little more distance between them, she was going to turn and run for her life.
Re: Around the Island
She had a crossbow, even though she wasn't sure it'd help, and she was moving along at a fast clip. Just doing a patrol sweep.
Until she spotted something black lying on the ground.
Re: Around the Island
Hands covered its eyes as it waited for the chance to move closer.

Re: Around the Island
It was like a game of peek-a-boo. Except the angel always got to be 'it.'
Re: Around the Island
When her fingers brushed over it, she realized she knew what it was, and it was like a punch in the gut. And she had to look, even though she promised herself she wouldn't, just a quick glance to confirm her worst fears.
Dale's tape recorder.
Re: Around the Island
It wanted to play.
Re: Around the Island
She let in a hiss of breath and she only blinked for a second, wincing, sure she'd just broken something and not really giving a damn.
Re: Around the Island
It showed her just how ready when she blinked, a snarl contorting its face.
Seeking time had arrived.
