The Arms Hotel Lobby, Tuesday
"You have forgotten the specials board again--" a heavy German accent resounded through the lobby. "...Why do you have your phone here?"
"Turtle might phone," Jeff mumbled, his chin resting on the desk.
"You spent all day with that girl," Gunther pointed out, hands firmly on his hips, "I heard your ridiculous radio broadcast."
"What if she doesn't phone?"
"Are you even listening to me?"
"Should I phone? Or would that come across as a bit overeager? You have to time your phoning, you don't want to catch on an upswing and get stuck in this mindless pattern of phoning--"
"Forget it," Gunther snapped, turning on his tail, and stealing Jeff's three-quarters cigar -- that's for the beret -- on his way back to the kitchen.

Talk to Jeff
Re: Talk to Jeff
One good thing about the obsessive watching of the phone was that it made it easier for Turtle to pounce on Jeff again without him noticing it until it was too late, mwa ha ha.
Re: Talk to Jeff
It would take Jeff about five seconds to realise-- "Turtle!"
Re: Talk to Jeff
"Hi, Jeff," she said, turning her head so that it was on his shoulder.
Re: Talk to Jeff
Even if he was a little wheezy from that very same grip. "You weren't there for hours," he whined. "What if you'd gone to France?"
Re: Talk to Jeff
Because that never happened, after all. She squeezed Jeff again.

She had been dreaming of Chicago, and, in Chicago, sometimes you had to shove people out of the way to avoid truancy officers.

The hugging gained some snuggling tendencies. "You know, I've done more traveling in the past few weeks...or months, depending on how you look at it... to last me almost a year."

Re: Talk to Jeff
There had been a lot to do in Chicago, a lot to distract her, but there were also long stretches of time where she was alone and doubting herself and doubting things, and that was when it got to be the worse.

He stared expectantly at the phone.
Nothing happened.

Or rather, Jeff would imagine that Turtle would firmly note that, and then quite possibly say a few things about restraining orders and magazines.
"No," he replied.
The complete sagging of Jeff's shoulders punctuated the point nicely.

Avoid Jeff
This may be why she's scaring the hotel staff and occasionally leaping on the poor visiting fools who try to avoid Jeff.
OOC
Out to get a haircut in the morning, but otherwise heeere.
