Caritas [Thursday evening]

Because she had promised to, before all the Cairo stupidity, Robin was wearing leather pants when she opened Caritas tonight.

She also figured she wouldn't be able to wear them again for a long time, once the weather started warming up. So it was a totally practical decision.

John, a droid baby, and a hover board walked into the bar. John was grinning as he took a seat. The droid baby was not. But at least it was quiet.

"Do you think droid babies need liquid?"

That was a question she never thought she'd hear. "Wouldn't that make them short-circuit?" Robin wondered. "If they're robots."

Juli was neither particularly fond of bars, or of drinking. Yet, she was bored--hadn't even felt like going into her office today--and so stepped inside.

And blinked at the zombies. Why, yes, it was her first time in the bar. "How is that sanitary?" she asked, mildly amused, stepping up the the bar.

"No clue," John shrugged. "The technology's a little beyond me. But I'll have a beer and Todd can just chill on the stool for now." Todd started whining when John let go of him.

Robin got his beer, eyeing the -- evidently, not real -- baby all the while. "You know, not to date myself or anything here, but we used to just have egg babies when we did the 'abstinence, or you'll get one of these!' home ec project."

"Which part? It's generally just best to accept that bars are dirty," Robin told her, shrugging. "I learned this a long time ago. I promise I keep it as clean as I can when I'm here, though."

Juli looked even more amused. "I was, actually, talking about the zombies. The rest of the bar seems well enough, no insult meant."

"Oh, those things." Robin waved a hand. "They stay over there. It's as sanitary as it can be, I guess?"

"Yeah, that stuff's too easy to fake for Prof. Skywalker," John informed her. "But I'm just droidsitting. Makes the whole thing a lot more fun."

"As well as can be, then," Juli said, wondering idly how they'd been made, "have they been around long?"

"As long as I've been here," she said, shrugging slightly, "but that's not saying much 'cause that's only like six months. What can I get you?"

"Ew, how'd you get stuck sitting?" she asked, wrinkling her nose. "I avoid real babies like the plague. Why would you take on a fake one?"

John gestured to the hover board. "I wanted to play stunt coordinator. You wouldn't believe the jumps that kid survived."

Robin just looked more confused. "You're a weird kid," she decided.

"Hey, at least I'm not bored." Which he had been. Bored and thinking. Thinking was bad, causing him to drink his beer.

"Sparkling water," she said, making a bit of a face, "I don't drink unless it's for a formal event, or along those lines."

"My boyfriend's like that," she sighed. "I spend half my time at this job forcing alcoholic drinks on that man, I swear." She rolled her eyes, but got the sparkling water.

She added a little cocktail umbrella, though, just for flair.

"Bored's bad," Robin agreed, finally placing him. "You're the kid with the weird hair who was here with Brooke a couple weeks ago! I remember you. Or your hair, anyway."

"Me with Brooke?" John was shocked. "Unless I was duplicated, I was here with Jaina. And my hair is not weird." Fandom people were so rude.

Juli eyed the umbrella, and laughed softly. "I've never found it a good thing to lose control. Drinking would make it too easy."

"Not if you pace yourself," Robin said. Spoken like a veteran lush.
