Wellspring Arms & Meditation Center, Friday

It was a beautiful day, birds were singing, the store was full of guns, and John Sheppard was very, very high up on Rikku's list of Bestest People Ever, for being an awesome droid-babysitter.

Well, she figured he was an awesome droid-babysitter. He had taken the droid-baby, and really, that was the important part of the equation.

The Wellspring Arms and Meditation Center was so very open.

She's in a lovely mood.

During the morning, the owner came downstairs, greeted Rikku with a, "Morning. Told you," and began checking up on the gun cases without another word.

"Morning," Rikku bounced. "Uh. You ... told me what?"

"That everything--" Deadpool. "Would be fine." Cable shot her a look that was vaguely encouraging-- he pulled open one of the gun cases.

She grinned. "You did. You can rub that in all you want. You were totally right."

John was not in a good mood, but he couldn't really blame Todd for it. Lugging the baby under his arm, he entered the store to make the trade-off.

"John!" John was quite possibly about to get tackleglomped. "You're awesome!"

"I take it things went well," John commented, taking in her more than usual level of excitement.

"Things," Rikku said, doing a spinny twirl and bouncing, "went amazingly well and I am alive and wonderful and you are awesome and awesome-ness and --"

She stopped, mid-spin. "And you're kinda in a suck mood?" She frowned. "Oh, no, was Todd awful? I'll owe you extra big. Super extra big. I'll ... beat someone up for you?"

John couldn't help but like that idea. "Definitely you should beat someone up, I'd pay to see that. I'm not in a mood. Just possibly not as bouncy as you."

"Are you saying you don't think I could?" she giggled, putting her hands on her hips. "I am badass. And extra-bouncy and you rule and how was he, anyway? Good? Mostly good? Kinda good? Asleep?"

Maybe he was broken!

"Todd was shockingly good. I kinda thought he was broken until he started wailing at 2:30 in the morning. Wasn't like I'd been asleep long, but wow, he's definitely not broken," John informed her. "Dude, I'd pay to watch you obliterate someone. The only question is who I want you to beat."

"Awwww, maybe he missed his mommy," she said, reaching out to take her droid-baby-evil-spawn. "You did, didn't you? Awww. Yes, you did. Even if you're not mine 'cause your eyes match."

She snuggled him happily. "I blew out Reno's knee once. Bam! It was awesome."

"I bet he didn't even mind," John teased, snickering.

"More impressed than anything," she bounced. "So have you been thinking about what I owe you?"

"I have," John said, looking thoughtful. "This is a weapons store, right?"

"It is," Rikku said, chewing her lip. "Cable gets weird about me selling weapons, though. Which is amazingly inside-out when you think about it. But I've got lines on weapons anyway that don't come from here. You need one?"

"It'd be nice to have something to call my own next time we get attacked or invaded or whatever," John said easily. "But only if it's not too much trouble."

"I'll see what I can do," she nodded. "Not a question of trouble, really. More figuring out what I can get where. What are you looking for? Gun? Sword? Knife? Something big and intimidating or little so you can conceal it?"

"I've never used a sword, really," not that he wouldn't like to. "Guns I've been trained on, though I'm betting you could teach me how to work the knives."

"Knives are handy for backup," she nodded. "Stick a dagger in your shoe, it's good for when something happens to your main weapon. And I can always get claws, but nobody but me ever seems to go for them. Maybe since they don't have range. Kind of a weird weapon, but still - good times."

"I don't think I've got what it takes to work the claws," John admitted. "Maybe I should stick with a gun. Possibly with upgrade?" He was so pushing his luck.

"What kinda upgrade we talking about?" she grinned.

It had been an awesome night.

John figured he might owe Reno if he got a cool enough weapon from this exchange. "Something along the lines of stronger, faster, better."

"Strength boost?" she asked, leaning against the counter. "Put a little oomph in the whole thing? Can't really make it faster. Haste goes to armor, not weapons. But I can kick it up a notch or two. Make everything that hits, hit a little harder."

"I like the sound of strength," he replied casually. "I think that would work for me."

"Done," she said. "I'll have to figure out ... it may not be from here. I know, I know, but Cable's kinda weird about selling guns to people. Just how it is. Besides, you don't really mind where it's from, do you?"

John gave her a look. "Like I'm picky about where things come from. Most of the cool stuff comes from other galaxies as far as I can tell."

"That's where I got all my weapons," she chirped. "Except the Glock. That was from Deadpool. Deadpool's awesome."

Everything was awesome today. It was a thing.

"He is awesome. Even if he did let Jaina handcuff and interrogate me in class." Not that John had really minded. "Not that I didn't deserve it."

Rikku raised an eyebrow. "Sounds kinky," she giggled. "Why did you deserve it?"

"Remember when you helped me with that whole fight thing?" he reminded her. "That was how we solved it."

"Oh." She blushed. "That's. Um. That's one way of doing it. Right?"

John laughed, "Not like that! It just ended up helping the talk along."
