Luke's Diner, March 21 (Friday)

There was, yet again, no sign of Yitzhak in the diner today except for the state of the place, which was even more unkempt and disarrayed than it had been yesterday. He'd actually bothered to order more supplies -- much to the shock of the kitchen staff -- but the napkin holders were getting perilously close to empty, the sugar jars were following their example, and if you weren't careful and sat down at the counter on the third stool from the left you might end up having certain parts of your anatomy checked out in a less than desirable way later on.

Actually, if you followed the phone cord across the floor into the storeroom, you might find Yitzhak in there; today, he was getting his jollies by calling up talk show radio hosts and . . . not saying a word.

Luke's is open -- if you dare.

You know, I keep hoping that someday people in this office will learn not to run the microwave, the toaster oven, and the coffeemaker at the same time.

I suspect that this is a vain and naive hope.
