Movie Sign Theatre 3000, Saturday Evening

The Great and T00by Love of Chyan and Rad

Troy leaned against the outside wall of the cinema, one leg bent and cocked against it. He was waiting for his boyfriend, smiling softly at the thought of once again being on a date with him. It felt like far too long since they'd done anything of the kind.

Where Troy is leaning against the wall, and available for any passers-by to speak to before Sky shows up.

Sky came strolling up, a shy smile crossing his lips when he spotted Troy. His clothes still smelled strongly of detergent.

"Hey," he said, leaning in to kiss his boyfriend.

"Hey," Troy replied, returning the kiss, although he didn't let it drag on too much -- they were in public, after all.

Of course. Sky went to touch Troy's hand briefly, fingers brushing against his. They could do plenty of kissing and hand-holding inside the theatre.

"I'm paying tonight," he said firmly. "I just got paid yesterday, and I want to do something for you, since you've tolerated my idiocy already this week."

"Are you sure?" Troy asked. "I mean, I've got money. You don't need to." He grinned. "And you may be an idiot, but you're my idiot, so there are no worries there."

"It's the least I could do," said Sky. "Especially because of what you're doing - what you have done- for me." He had to resist a sudden immature urge to stick his tongue out at Troy's last comment. "Yeah, yeah, I know."

Troy laughed. "Well, then, if you insist." He grinned, and gestured to the doorway. "Shall we?"

For the purchasing of snacks and drink-like things! Although not squishies, alas.

"You want anything?" Sky asked Troy as they walked in. He was going to ignore his usual resistance to eating junk tonight, because, hey- it was a date with the boy he loved. He could loosen up for this, if nothing else. "I'm... surprisingly in the mood for popcorn. Maybe the huge bucket that's about as big as my head."

He was joking.

Maybe.

"Only the one the size of your head?" Troy teased. "I thought maybe we'd go for the one a few sizes larger."

"Oh, you mean the one as big as my torso. Well, if you want it, I'm sure we'll finish it in about 2 months." Sky winked.

"You underestimate the appetite of an eighteen-year-old athlete," Troy said, laughing. "But okay. Just the one the size of your head."

"Alright then," said Sky, smirking back. "Want anything else, or just the popcorn? I might be bold and even go for the extra butter on top."

"Large root beer?" Troy asked. "And maybe a Mars bar?"

"Of course," said Sky. "Anything." Smiling, he went up and ~~handwavily~~ purchased everything. He wasn't kidding about the popcorn tub being as big as his head- so junky, but so good. "Looks like the movie's about to start."

"Yeah," Troy said, taking his drink and the chocolate bar from his boyfriend. "We should head in (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/2667501.html?thread=116897773#t116897773)."

The movie's pretty plotless, so there's lots of opportunity to not pay attention to it, and pay lots of attention to your date.

... But keep it clean, this is a comm after all.

"So have you ever seen the first one?" Troy asked as they settled into their seats.

"Nope," said Sky, taking a huge handful of popcorn and offering the tub to Troy. "I was pretty little when they came out and never bothered to catch up- I was more a superhero movie kind of kid."

"Okay," Troy said. "So, basically, all you need to know is that there's this basketball player and this math whiz girl, and they both realise they love singing and their whole school turns upside down. Also, they get cast as the leads in the school musical." He paused. "And there's lots of dancing and singing."

"Uh... huh," said Sky slowly, turning to look at Troy and wondering if the purpose of the movie being shown was to watch it for 5 minutes then make out for the rest of it. Of course, he didn't vocalize this. "Ah... I'm sure I'll be able to follow it, then."

"Well, this is the sequel," Troy explained, as the opening credits began to roll over ridiculously cheesy, sappy music. "That's what happened before. This one... well, it has lots of dancing and singing! And there's this great gay love story that's actually the best part of it, even though it's supposed to be about the basketball star and math whiz from the first one."

Sky cocked his head to one side.

"Whatever you say," he said, not quite sure what to make of it. Especially since he was in his own great gay love story. "It looks... interesting enough so far."

"... It's a lot of fun?" Troy offered. "It's, ah. ... Well, it's not a good movie. But I still love it."

"Then I'll trust your judgement," Sky said, leaning in to kiss Troy.

... In case there's any need for them. For anything use to which you might put them.

... No, of course Troy's not standing like a hustler outside of the theatre. Why do you ask? ;)
