Trooper Station - Saturday Morning

Roy was behind his desk that morning. As far he knew nothing unusual was going on. Honestly, having tiny kids running around wasn't all that unusual for Fandom anyway, so perhaps the troopers had decided it wasn't a noteworthy thing.

It was possible that Roy would disagree with them. As it was, he had no clue about his disagreement as right now he didn't know and there was paperwork to stare at. Joy.

Ed knew just where to find his da and once he got bored with exploring the island that was sorta the same and sorta different, he ran over to the station. Of course da was there and sometimes he had donuts!

Which was why a small boy careened into the trooper station, running hard until he remembered he wasn't supposed to run there. "Da! I want ice cream! Or a donut? Can you have ice cream on a donut?"

Ed giggled. "Da! Don't be silly." He ran around the desk to attempt to climb up into Roy's lap. "I want ice cream please?"

Maybe the please would help. He heard it was the mgic word.

He cuddled in happily, reaching to play with a pen on Roy's desk. "...No?"

It wasn't like he could help sounding slightly guilty given who his mother was.

"Daaaaa~a," Ed protested. "Don't be silly. You're my da and mama's my mama." He made a face. "Mama already made me do the undercover thing. Why do I gotta do it again?"

"I don't know. Are you playing a game? Can I play too?" he asked hopefully. "I wanna play a game!"

After seeing the increase in the amount of kids running around and hearing reports of a vortex at one end of the park, Dale showed up in the police station on his day off.

Actually he usually worked on his day off anyway but that's how it usually worked.

Dale looked up and had to chuckle.

"Looks like you've had a bundle of joy appear in your life."

[identity profile] spypony.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Ed grinned from ear to ear and started wriggling. "Uncle Dale!"

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Dale's eyes widened a bit at that. "Why hello!" Dale said suddenly grinning. "It's good to see you again."

[identity profile] spypony.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Ed moved up to the desk, standing on tip toes to see over it. "What are you doing?" he asked curiously. "Did you come up with another invasion plan?"

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, actually I'm just filling out some paperwork," Dale said with a grin as he winked at Roy. "Why? Do you think we're going to be invaded by something soon?"

Shayla had a little bit of a problem. She was lost without her parents and that was a Very Bad Thing. But her mommy always told her that if she was lost, what she had to do was go and find a police officer man, and the police officer man could help her. She hadn't found any police officer men yet, but she did find what she thought might be a police officer place, and that was the reason why a small little Chinese girl was quietly, nervously attempting to open the door and come in.

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Dale looked up as he caught a glimpse of the girl at the door and walked over. "Can I help you, young lady?" Dale asked as he opened the door.

[identity profile] littlemissyork.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ummm..." Shayla hesitated, eyes down, hands fiddling a little near her mouth. She looked at the open door as if unsure of whether or not she should go in any further, and then looked up at the man. "Are you a please of'cer man?"

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"Why yes I am," Dale said kneeling down and pulling out his badge to show the little girl. "Are you lost?"

[identity profile] littlemissyork.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Uh huh," Shayla shyly nodded, seemed to move one of her hands because she wanted to touch the pretty, shiny badge, but she didn't want to be impolite, so her hand curled back up near her other one. "An' mommy an' daddy said that if I get los', I should find a...a please of'cer man."

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's okay, you can touch the badge," Dale said offering it to her. "And that was very smart of your mommy and daddy to tell you that. Can you tell me your mommy and daddy's name?"

[identity profile] littlemissyork.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
A big, though still shy, smile broke on Shayla's face as she got to hold on to the pretty, shiny badge, and she shifted it a little this way and that to see all the different ways that the light caught on it before saying, with the air of much care and practice, "Charlotte an' 'Arry Go'blat-tah!" The last name, while said with the quickness of uncertainty for pronunciation, definitely had a good firm T sound at the end.

[identity profile] pieandcoffee.livejournal.com 2008-04-26 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Dale raised an eyebrow at the first name. "I see. And what would your full name be?"
