The Arms Hotel Lobby, Saturday [4/26]

Finally, Mary was back at work after being sick for a week. It felt weird to have so many things to catch up on for a Saturday morning, because normally she'd finish all her paperwork on Friday. She giggled a little when she saw how many rooms had been rented for prom night and debated sending Gunther upstairs with complimentary room service breakfast for some of the unsuspecting couples.

Before a pair of surprises drop in.

From the corner of the lobby, there was the sound of giggling.

Mary went to investigate the giggling. She was a little surprised to see two adorable children, but figured at first that they must belong to a guest that checked in while she was sick. "Hi there," she said, crouching down to their level. "Are you two lost?"

"Not anymore, Mommy!" said Melissa, grinning.

Wait a minute.

"Did you just call me Mommy?" asked Mary.

"Hi, mommy," Michael said, hhis demeanor a little more reserved. But he was grinning and that was a good thing.

"Hi sweetie," said Mary. "Um, is someone making you two play a joke on me?"

"Why would we play a joke on you, Mommy?" asked Melissa, looking innocently at Mary.

Michael was just as innocent looking. "Where's daddy?"

"That's a very good question," said Mary.

She took a look at the kids, with red hair like hers, and curls like George Michael's, and suddenly something clicked in her mind. "Can you tell me your names again?"

"I'm Melissa Bluth," said Melissa, looking very proud of herself.

"I'm Michael Bluth," then he held up four fingers. "We're this many!"

Dear God, they were twins! Hers and George Michael's, apparently. Mary felt the tears welling up in her eyes. "You know your numbers already. I'm very proud of you. Do you want to go find Daddy? I bet he's at the banana stand today."

Melissa started jumping up and down. "I wanna banana!" she squealed.

Michael craned his head back, grinning and jumping up and down, and went in to hug his mommy's leg. "I want a big one, kay? Can I have a big one, mommy, with lots of chocolate?"

"And nuts! I have ten cents for nuts, Mommy!" said Melissa, fishing a dime out of her pocket.

"I think we'll all be getting bananas today," said Mary, taking both children by the hand. "Kids, let's go see Daddy (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/2732472.html)."

I completely jinxed myself by making Mary get sick. Now I'm the one with a really bad sore throat.

Sadly, I'm not sick enough (yet) to get out of work, so there will be SP between 9:30 AM and 6:30 PM.
