Cafe Fina - Saturday 4/26

It was a totally normal day!

Except that there were suddenly little spoons and plates and other kitchenware running around, and the staff was completely boggled. Apparently, even sentient flat- and silverware were not immune to Fandom weirdness.

Amused and slightly curious, Fai painstakingly copied the name of the special onto the board, exactly as the flustered cheese grater had written it for him.

Birthday Cake

Afterward, Fai retreated to a table nearer the kitchen in order to watch the organized chaos within. Otherworld weirdness could be fun - when you weren't the one affected!

Kurogane came down the stairs to the cafe and stared in horror at all the weetiny utensils.

"They bred...." he said flatly.

"Mmmhmm," Fai replied. "Apparently. Though they're saying it's their children from the future who miraculously showed up today. No idea why."

Kurogane sighed and shook his head. "Just more weirdness. I wonder how much longer we'll be stuck here."

"Who knows..." Fai tipped his chair back on two legs. "I kind of like it here, though."

"Yeah, well all this shit just creeps me out," he grumped and got a cup of coffee before sitting down with Fai. "Better them than me."

Yuui and Suwa stood outside the cafe, still holding hands.

"I think this is it!" Yuui beamed proudly that he'd found it.

"..If you're sure," Suwa nodded, clinging tightly to his twin.

"It is!!!" Yuui grinned. "See!! There's Mommy's cat face!"

The twins smiled at each other and rushed inside the cafe. "Mommy!! Daddy!!"

Fai, in his already precarious position on the two back legs of the chair, lost his steadying grip on the table. Chair and mage both crashed backward, landing in a rather spectacular clatter. The blond pushed himself up, carefully getting to his feet. "...Excuse me?" he asked, clearing his throat to try to sound less...well, startled. "Are you lost?"

Kurogane was almost more than a little startled by the twins who ran into the cafe, but just stared at them silently.

"We were, but we found you okay!" Yuui grinned brightly and giggled a little when Mommy fell over.

Suwa looked a little bit more subdued, but Mommy seemed okay. He looked over at Daddy and gave him a little smile. "Are we in trouble for getting lost?"

"..." Fai stared. "Wait..."

He looked closely at the two identical little faces, the bright blue eyes and mops of unruly dark hair.

"..." He said nothing more, turning and fleeing up the stairs to the aparment he shared with Kurogane. All that followed was the slam of the door.

It was another of those weird weekends in Fandom. Normally Cass just let the oddness of it all flow over her, around her, unmoved by it. But recently things had been... upsetting. Her usual ability to not care had deserted her.

So she had thought to go somewhere with good and comforting memories. Besides, the cafe tended to avoid most of the weirdness of this place. It had enough weirdness of its own.

She walked into Fina with her usual near-silence, but she stopped in the doorway and looked around confused.

She hadn't realized the owners had children.

They didn't in any 'normal' time.

But there was Kurogane with a twin under each arm as he carried them (http://hanged-magician.livejournal.com/1420.html?view=9100#t9100) down from the apartment upstais.

He might have looked a little releived to see Cass. He put down the kids in front of her. "Watch them, I'll pay you overtime."

Cass blinked, her face a mask of utter confusion. It took her time to process the request. Precious seconds slipped away before she managed, "What?"

The twins looked up at Cass curiously, Suwa hanging behind Yuui shyly. Wondering who she was.

Kurogane took a deep breath. "I need you to watch these two kids and make sure that they do not come upstairs or get into anything they shouldn't," he explained flatly, hoping that Fai didn't disappear before he got back upstairs.

"..." Cassandra said eloquently.

Then, "What shouldn't they get into?" She hadn't spent nearly enough time around kids to know.

Kurogane was halfway to the stairs and paused. "Anything, don't let them get into anything. if they get hungry though have the utensils bring them something."

And then he raced back up the stairs

Cassandra had more questions, but it was clearly to late to ask them.

"Um..." she looked around a bit nervously. "Hi?"

Yuui sat down at one of the tables and Suwa quickly followed suit.

"Hi. Mommy and Daddy are fighting," Yuui explained and aid his head on the table. "I think we did something wrong..."

Numbly Cassandra followed them and sat down at the same table. "What did you do?" she asked curiously.

They both shrugged.

"I dunno.... We went through a portal and looked around town for a long time for them. It might be 'causa that. But.. Mommy looked really afraid of us and then ran away.."

There might have been soem lip trembling that was gonna happen soon.
