"Could you please sit down?"
Jean sat down. It didn't stop her from levitating the phone up any higher. And jiggling it. In the air. "Auntie Irene's gotta talk to yoooou!"
"Jean. I'm writing-- Auntie-- Irene a letter right now. If you'd please--?"
"Taaaalk!"
He shot Terry a Look, too. "How long have you two been up to this?"
The phone happily floated its way down to Cable's ear. With a rub of the back of his head, he took it. "No, Irene, it's nothing. There's just--" he glanced over towards the twins, again, "...a sudden rise in the incidence of children in town." Pause. "Yes, I was going to tell you about the baby-- and stealing isn't the appropriate term-- well, it was necessary..."
It was going to be a very long day.
But, looking at the girls, Cable figured he'd deal. "Crayons, please. ...Yes, I'm a grown up, Irene, please--"

Talk to Cable
Re: Talk to Cable
So, bright and early in the morning, a little blonde ninja poked her head around the door. "Morning!"
Re: Talk to Cable
And then looked up. "Morning." Now who?
Re: Talk to Cable
Well. That's what she understood it as anyway.

That got him slightly more wary. Blonde, Yakushi, the way she was moving...

Re: Talk to Cable
He'd been a little too busy to listen to the radio. He'd have to compensate, somehow.

Fine, they were still alive and of course with Nate.
His job as a parent was done then, he turned to leave.
Re: Talk to Cable
Cable's conversation-- whatever funny there was to it-- came to an abrupt end as Jean piped up by his side, loudly, "Daddy!"
He lowered the phone, tilting his head at both-- that lurking figure-- and the patter of twin feet, rushing for the door.
Re: Talk to Cable
"Daddy needs those legs to not be crushed so he can leave now, kids."
Re: Talk to Cable
Re: Talk to Cable
An unmovey daddy was an apologized to Daddy. Or apologizing. One of those two.
Re: Talk to Cable
Yep.
The phone got clicked off entirely. "I tried," Cable said, carefully.
Re: Talk to Cable
But it was rather tame compared to what it would be without the kids around.
"Yeah, he's crap at anything having nothing to do with his missions."
Re: Talk to Cable
"..."
Finding something to say, on the other hand, was an option distinctly lacking in clarity. Somehow he doubted I had no choice would do much good.

Terry clung tighter, looking back at Father.
