The park, Monday morning

"Dancing is like flying," River said, spinning around. "Can't be a good pilot of you can't dance." Well, maybe, but dancing helped, and she had to make a point.

Will was spinning around too, occasionally falling over, but managing to keep the precious toy viper intact. He laughed, clearly pleased that mommy no longer had a bad day, and even if there wasn't going to be flying, dancing in a park wasn't so bad.

River thought of a lively folk tune, making it clear in her mind so that Will would catch it. "Rhythm. Patterns." she reminded him. At least he wasn't taking after his father when it came to dancing.

Sparky was on her way from Grandpa and Grandma's house to the dorms by way of everywhere she could think of. Which included the Park.

When she saw the older girl and the boy her age dancing, she spun around in circles to join in. "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Someone had joined them and she seemed fun! Will made some viper noises in greeting and ran around her in a circle. Unfortunatel she couldn't hear mommy's music.

"Vroooooom!" Sparky said back, waving to Will as the toy spaceship noises increased. "Zooooooom!"
