Fandom Post Office, Monday, 4/28

In matching pink dresses, Annette and Aimee sat behind the counter, where Annette bought her daughter a book of stamps so she could make something pretty on a big piece of white construction paper. Annette was like the best mom ever.

She assumed if A.J. wanted to spend time with Aimee for the day, he'd be by to pick her up. Which, Annette could really be talked into leaving early if they all wanted to do something together. As a family. Wow, didn't that sound... weird in a nice sort of way.

The post office is open.

Just, no bell because her daughter couldn't leave it alone.

A.J. only had one thing to say, really, when he came in and saw matching pink blondes, one normal and one mini.

"Oh, God, Annette."

He was laughing, though, somewhere behind that facepalm.

Two pairs of innocent blue eyes looked up at him.

For the life of mother and daughter, they couldn't figure out just what he was laughing at.

"What?"

Unable to help himself, A.J. laughed again, ruefully shaking his head. "You guys....you guys match."

Both girls smiled at him. "Of course we do; we went shopping yesterday."

Aimee proudly showed her daddy her painted pink fingernails.

"I've already taken a picture of us," Annette told him. "But I think you should be in it too." Therefore, she grabbed her camera and set it up on the counter. "Come back here and I'll set the timer."

"I don't know, Annette," A.J. said, as he was already hopping over the counter. "I wouldn't want to break your camera."

Both girls gave him a look both at the exact same time.

"A.J.? Pacify me, sweetheart," Annette told him as she fiddled with the camera and set it for ten seconds. "Okay! Hurry, let's get into position!"

"You two?" A.J. said, returning the look right back at them. "Have got to stop that."

Aimee giggled and stuck her tongue out at her daddy just as Annette wrapped her arm around A.J., grinning at the camera with their daughter between them.

Yeah, and...that wasn't kind of awkward or anything. Not that A.J. would say anything, of course, but he couldn't help but wonder if that sort of feeling was going to come across in the photograph.

"So, uh, what'd you two do today?"

"Nothing much, just... playing with stamps," she told him as she walked back to her camera so she could view the picture that they just took. The look on A.J.'s face in it spoke volumns and Annette looked over at him, simply staring while Aimee rattled on and on about the picture she'd made using stamps.
