Jeff had brought a stack of sandwiches into the lobby today, unsliced ones (uncompartmentalised ones) which he had stacked in a neat little tower in front of him on the desk.

Following the dog laws of cause and effect to the letter, this meant that Nana was going to spend most of the day playing Inconvenient Living Rug to anyone coming within several feet of the desk. Jeff figured it was probably a good idea just not to get up.
