The Arms Hotel Lobby, Saturday [Before Graduation]

Today, the hotel had a brunch buffet set up. Mary figured that the guests would need to be prepared to face whatever happened at graduation.

Besides, it was was an excuse to nag Gunther until he made some hash browns just for her.

"So. Who does a guy have to know to get some service around here?" John asked playfully. Room 111 was, he hoped, still fully stocked.

"Don't look at me. See the guy with the chef's hat," said Mary.

Gunther was sporting a lovely leopard-print chef's hat today instead of the more traditional one.

John doffed an imaginary hat. "Place looks good. How've you been keeping yourself?" He leaned in a bit closer. "How's my room?" he asked quietly.

"I'm good," said Mary. "And your room is exactly as you left it."

"Good to hear. Nothing crazy lately?" he asked, knowing this was Fandom. "Never know how much you miss a place until you leave, y'know?"

Mary thought for a moment about the twins. "No," she said hesitantly, "nothing crazy going on lately, just graduation."

"I find that hard to believe," he teased.

"Business looks good."

"It's doing well," said Mary. "I thought about making some renovations around the place with the extra income coming in. My fiancé and I are already sharing two hotel rooms with all of our stuff, and then if kids come along... I feel like just knocking out a few walls and making one special suite."

"Really?" John asked, eyebrows rising. "That serious. I never knew. If you need some assistance with that," he said with a grin, "I could help. Put in my own bathroom in the dorm. And the still at Sparky's and under the church."

Relax in the one of the lobby's seating areas, chat with other guests, wonder why there's towel animals in one corner of the lobby.

Shawn was around and lounging in the lobby. He had a brother to find, preferably before he graduated.

Hopefully, Danny would get his message and meet him down here.

Shawn hadn't been there too long before Danny made an appearance.

"Thought you were avoiding me," he said, walking over.

"And face mom's wrath when I got home?" Shawn snorted, as he stood. "I don't think so."

He gave his brother a quick manly hug. "Glad at least one of you could make it."

"Thought you would've hoped I got lost on my way here," Danny remarked.

Shawn frowned. "I'm glad you're here, you're my brother," he said firmly.

After a beat he continued, "Enjoying your visit so far?"

"Cute island with a bar that doesn't card?" Danny shrugged. "Not seeing the bad yet."

Shawn gave a short laugh, "Yeah, well, might wanna hold out judgment until you've seen graduation."

He remembered last year, and he wasn't convinced this year would be much better.

"C'mon, lets head out. You'll want a decent seat."

Comment notifications are off, but I'm around all day. Except now I'm hungry from that brunch menu and need to find food.
