The York Gallery; Monday [ 05/12 ]
The gallery wasn't open today, but the painting had been cleared out and there were great big crates scattered around the main gallery, just waiting to be cracked open and Charlotte was excitedly bouncing around them in her pumps with her tape measure and her clipboard in hand and making sure they were all positioned just how she had planned and perfectly arranged to fit the exhibit she had in mind.
The delivery she'd received earlier certainly wasn't helping to bring her happy mood down any, either.
And then there were the signs to put up over the entrance outside and in the windows and a few flyers to go around and be posted, announcing the new Bruce Naigles exhibit opening this Wednesday, which was both going to come too early and not soon enough. She stepped down from the step ladder by the door after affixing the banner in place, stepped back to have a better look at the full picture, wrinkled her nose, and then plodded up the ladder again to make the proper adjustments.
That banner was probably going to take up the rest of her afternoon, and then she'd pray that they didn't get much wind the next few days.
[[ open, of course ]]

She leaned back carefully.
It was a little crooked, favoring the other side in height.

"Oh! You mean one of those things with the little bubble thing in the center with the lines and the making sure everything's all straight and even?"

Of course, it would be all Charlotte's fault for putting up a banner in pumps, but...
They were shoes. It was a thing.

Or she could hear him scream if he got attacked by a demonic oven.
