The Park, Friday Morning

Finding new ways to 'get out'-- get some fresh air, leave the confines of the store-- wasn't proving to be as difficult as he'd thought.

After Tether had made his round, Cable settled down by the pond, legs crossed, eyes closed and stretching. It wasn't really yoga, but it was calming, and with the baby snug in her blanket less than a foot away, he could, at least, relax.

A little.

Maybe.

At least the exercise was helping him focus.

"Almost picture perfect," Juli remarked, slowing and pausing in her walk through the park. A man, a baby, and the dog. It was almost sweet, even.

Cable glanced up, pausing mid-stretch; Tether's head tilted up moments later. "It's safer than a bar," he remarked.

"In the sense that there's less intoxicants," she noted, "yes."

She got a wry smirk in return. "And less of a danger of detonated explosives," Cable replied. Like, say, Wade taking a grenade into a bar that one time. "Good morning."

"Good morning," she said, amused. "Do explosives often get detonated while you're in a bar?"

"Sometimes," he replied, vaguely, "I have to keep on my toes."
