Atlas Gym, Friday night

He'd been here for a week, but Logan was finally doing the other thing he had come here to do. The i's were dotted and the t's were crossed - not on his end since his name didn't have either of those letters - and now Logan was running a gym.

He needed a personal training ground away from Avengers Apartment and wherever Summers was setting up in San Francisco. A gym in a small town in Virginia was good for that. A gym in a small town that used to be in Virginia but was now in Greece was even better. He just needed to get some Danger Room gear in here - he had to go out of town soon, so he'd look into that next week - and he'd be set.

For now he was just going to test out the punching bags by beating the stuffing out of them. Not literally. Probably.

[OOC: Hey, look at that. Atlas Gym has a PC owner now!

FYI, Atlas will continue to be completely moddable (aside from one change explained later). Put up a post whenever you want, use the equipment you want, and so on and so forth. There will only be two differences with the gym from here on out. First, there will be a post every weekend - usually on Saturdays, I think - where Logan will be around for managerial stuff. Take out a membership (why you'd want to do that, I don't know, but it's an option because why not?), arrange to have Logan train you, pick a fight with Logan and spar right away... Stuff like that. Or talk to him. Whatever.

Second, there will soon be a Danger Room area in the gym. If you want to get a work out with hologram ninjas or whatever, the option will be available to you. This will only be accessible with the permission of the manager, which you can get by visiting his post during the weekend or via his voicemail.

That's about it for the moment.

Post is open for any late-night visitors.]

"You'd almost be tempted to think our universe was planning an invasion."

Cable wasn't glaring, per se. It was hard to do so while holding a baby and lurking in someone's gym. Well. Lurking. It was more of an obvious brooding loom.

[identity profile] spring-lost.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
"I was making an observation," Cable replied, narrowing his eyes a little. "What brings you here, Logan?"

Some emphasis on you, there.

[identity profile] spring-lost.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Cable's eyes skipped around the premises-- no changes, yet. Nothing like Stark's work at Sparky's, anyway... but.

Logan's assault on the bag got very little in terms of attention. The baby was next in line. "Seems to be a running theme with the X-men at the moment."

[identity profile] spring-lost.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes..." One glance up at Logan. Cable held it; the narrow was gone. For the most part. "So you'll be running the gym." There was nothing icy about that sentence at all.

[identity profile] spring-lost.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
"I liked the seagulls."

He turned slightly. To take a leisurely stroll through the gym. A few steps to the equipment. Then Cable stopped, and looked back at him again. "Watch your step around here."

[identity profile] spring-lost.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
"If I was threatening you, I'd have told you I'd throw you into the ocean," Cable replied, frankly, then smirked. Slightly, and without mirth. "Which I will if I find out you've been lying about being here," he continued, easily (and he was fairly sure Logan was, so that was something to look forward to), "But take that one as friendly advice."

[identity profile] spring-lost.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't need to be first," Cable said, and any pleasantries were now very, very far from his voice, "I just need to be thorough."

With an eyeflash at the end, there.

From across the island, Deadpool's posturing senses were tingling.

There was a bright flash of light and then... a Deadpool.

He looked from one to the other. "Ooo, am I just in time for an epic battle that will end with the company never being the same?"

[identity profile] spring-lost.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Seriously."

Well, that broke his whole posturing streak. Cable glanced over at Deadpool. "Glad you could join us," he deadpanned. "I think we're not in danger of that."

[identity profile] mouthy-merc.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Seriously, people still care about you?" Deadpool asked cheerfully, grinning like a moron. "I mean, with that hottie X-23 around, I thought fanboys would lose that lil' hard-on that they have for ya."

He might be bitter about the canceled book still.

[identity profile] spring-lost.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
He was developing a headache. Worse than the Madrox one that had already been pounding there for several solid weeks.

"Nothing is getting sliced off," Cable said, and his voice had been put back to the 'calm' setting. Voice of reason. Right. "I came here to talk," he continued, "I think we've touched upon the basics, Logan."

Like the fact that things were going to end up sliced off as soon as he found out what the guy was hiding.

[identity profile] mouthy-merc.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
"When did you slice my head off," Deadpool asked slowly. "Because this is totally news to me!"

He leaned toward Nate, hand over his mouth and continued in a stage whisper, "I think his old age finally caught up with him. Next he'll start talking about when a meal only cost a nickel."

[identity profile] spring-lost.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Wade," Cable said. Calmly. With only the mildest of sharp edges.

Mostly because he was kind of agreeing with the overall point of that sentence.

[identity profile] mouthy-merc.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Oooo! Snikt snikt, I'm terrified," Deadpool said, waving his hands like he was soooo scared.

"And different universes sound about right. Especially since the X-23 where I'm from is lookin' ripe."

[identity profile] spring-lost.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, the headache was getting pounding.

He made a good show of not showing it. Moments like this, Irene would've come in handy. Or the Providence defense grid. "We've established that we're dealing with several diverged timelines," Cable said. Delicately. Sort of. "And that Logan will be running the gym in his vacation."

Very delicately. "That'll be all, Logan."

[identity profile] mouthy-merc.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
Mostly because one was a time traveler and didn't need to and the other was... Deadpool.

"Your million and a half teams? Did the Young Avengers not let you join? Age-ism is so sad. Maybe you and Janice Dickenson can form a support group."

[identity profile] spring-lost.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Breaking it all off would be prudent.

"Have a nice vacation, Logan," Cable replied, stoically, and turned fully to face the door.

[identity profile] mouthy-merc.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Hugs and kisses to the missus," Deadpool called back to him. "Let him know that you didn't get your ass kicked by his so~on."

[identity profile] spring-lost.livejournal.com 2008-05-17 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
Cable stalked calmly towards the door. Collected. He wasn't going to stoop to that level.

"I'm thinking Logan might need a ladyshave for a housewarming gift," he commented.
