The Boards, Tues [5/20]

And so, there was rehersal.

The sign was out front as per usual, ragged and ridiculous as ever. Written below it was the important bit, though.
Rehersals for Titus Andronicus

He awaited his actors.

[ooc: still casting so if new pups who'll be here for the summer would like to get a part, PLEASE do tag in!] [ocd coming up!] [sorry for lateness: work internet issues are the suck]

Cal's there, even if it looks like they're not really doing anything with his scenes, chilling out and reading along with the script. Yay for already being dead! Wooooo.

Amber sat back, watching those on the stage rehearse, and when she wasn't, she was going over notes and studying her lines.

Amber might have found a small, folded little football of a paper skittering her way at some point. She would find "Nothing like a bit of light comedic theatre to brighten your day." scribbled on it inside, should she notice and open it.

Reaching down, she picked it up and unfolded it, reading slowly as her lips curved up in a smirk. Amber glanced up at the stage and wondered if she would ever see this play light or comedic. Then she looked over at Cal. She quickly scribbled back, "You should be playing a different role." And she skittered the little football back.

Smirking slightly himself, Cal wrote back. He figured he could probably whisper, but this seemed to run a bit less of a risk of causing an interruption.

"I told him I wanted to be one of the guys in the pie, but being dead's not so bad."

And, because he couldn't help asking:

"Unless you had someone else in mind?"

"The pie is disgusting, even worse because Tamora eats it." Amber paused, bit her lip with a small shrug. "Mr. Tennant is the stage master; he would know best the part you should play." Although Amber did wonder how well Cal would do with playing Titus, a much more moving and vocal role.

Cal would politely keep any comments about eating him to himself. Especially since that could just come off as incredibly creepy. He'd been mostly able to avoid that so far around here, and wouldn't mind keeping that up.

"Trust me," he wrote back, "I'm not that great of an actor." Which actually, clearly, wasn't true. "Me getting killed off early will probably get a good cheer out of the crowd. A little sad I miss one of your scenes today, though."

"Neither am I, but I'm having fun pushing myself, trying." Even if she did think the production gruesome and overly dramatic. "But I didn't have a scene today..."

"Me, neither, though you have a lot more than I do. All I've got going on right now is being dead. How'm I doing?"

Cal waited for Amber to look over his way before screwing up his face, tongue hanging out and eyes rolled up, limps slackened in his best impression of a corpse.

She did look over at him and cracked up, covering her mouth with her hand to try and keep the noise to a minimum.

"Can I let you know after I eat you?"

No, Amber wasn't aware of how that possibly sounded until after she sent the note back. It caused her to slouch some in her seat while her face heated considerably.

Lips pressed together a little, Cal had to duck his head against his own blush at that, rubbing the back of his neck. He would have taken the time to calculate exactly all the things wrong with that statement, but he wasn't sure he could count that time.

Eventually, though, he came up with a response that might have seemed possibly innocent or, at the very least, appropriate.

As appropriate as cannibalism could get, anyway.

"I probably go good with A-1 sauce."

Amber wasn't sure that she wanted to read what he wrote back. She was afraid to even look over there at him. She was such a dork oh my god.

But... he made her smile, again. "And a nice chianti? Help to wash you down properly."

"Good thing," Cal wrote back, "I didn't become a clown, then I would have tasted funny."

Yeah, it was corny and cheesy, but...it fit.

When she wasn't on stage Naomi was spending the time going over her lines.
