Cable was on the phone. Carefully poking through some of his paperwork, occasionally stealing glances at the baby, but, for the most part, very obviously on the phone.

That didn't keep the Open sign from being clearly visible on the door. It just meant the proprietor's ears were a little busy getting thoroughly mocked by his former Chief of Staff. And brushing it off.

The mocking, that is. He might've been a little fond of the former Chief of Staff in question. Even if Irene insisted on making cracks about him trying to 'woo' Deadpool back.

"It's called being a good friend." Pause. "I didn't know I had a 'track record' with that phrase..."

Worf entered the store looking as though he were on a mission.

"Sir," he said adressing Cable, "I wish to address an issue of concern I have with one of you staff."

"--And if the Rumeki have any issue with that, be sure to take it up with Johann. A minute, please..."

Cable lowered the phone. "Worf," he greeted, with his best diplomatic voice (and it was good), "What kind of issue?"

"One of your employees yesterday was giving inadequate service," he informed Cable. "She was asleep during her shift."

Ah. Yes. Ino had needed the rest.

He gave Worf a nod. "I'll look into it," Cable replied. He wouldn't. "She's been labouring under some different circumstances lately." He paused. Contemplated the next sentence. Then said, earnestly, "I apologize for the inconvenience."

Worf look somewhat mollified. "Very well. She is under your command."

"Yes," Cable said, frankly, "She is. And I'll be taking the steps I deem appropriate."

What that meant, he wasn't going to disclose. "I'm taking it you're here for the room, otherwise?"

"It is," Cable replied, and hoped Irene hadn't taken up any particularly important diatribes while they were talking. "At your disposal."
