Wellspring Arms & Meditation Centre, Wednesday

She was... there. Not at the desk though, but rather spent some time flitting around and taking care of her plants before retreating to the meditation room.

Settling down on the floor Ino closed her eyes and tried to clear her mind. It wasn't working so well though, and after a solid forty minutes of trying, and failing, to find her center, she wandered back out to the desk and flopped in Cable-san's chair.

What did that mean? She'd always been able to find her center before.

Ino bit her lip, and worried about that.

And in what should be no surprise, Worf showed up. "Is the meditation room available?" He asked in his usual gruff manner.

Oh, joy. Him. "Is it ever unavailable?" she asked him. "I mean, seriously."

Worf bristled slightly. "Would you prefer that I march into the room and interrupt someone in the middle of their meditation?" he snapped back.

"If someone's actually meditating then you looking in shouldn't disturb them," Ino pointed out with a sniff. "Because they'd, you know, be meditating."

Lana stopped in to see Ino.

"Hi, Lana," Ino offered, perking up slightly.

Worf glared at Ino. "I was merely being... polite," he said with some restraint. "From now on I'll ignore your presence and simply go into the room. If I interrupt anything the fault will rest on your shoulders."

"How's it going?" Lana asked, looking at her with some concern.

"Oh, come on," she said, with a roll of her eyes, "I'm so bad that you'll avoid me now? Seriously? I mean, just 'cause you don't like me--unless you do and this is all some sort of odd scheme to get my attention, in which case, you rather fail, but it's cute in a boy-pulling-pigtails sort of way--there's no need to try and make me feel guilty when I really really won't."

"I'm... still here?" she said, wrinkling her nose. "Which is probably a good sign or something. I mean, I don't know exactly, but whatever. How about you?"

He had his class, yes, but he also had a few minutes between when he could squeeze in the time to bring someone some lunch and a few cookies.

The broom helped.

"Ino?"

He looked around before trotting in.

"I never said or inferred that at all!" Worf said sharply. "I was merely trying to ascertain if the room was available."

Worf huffed slightly. "Honestly," he growled. "You humans and your need to over-analyze everything."

"And now you're being rude," so was she, but whatever, "and racist and that's just seriously not cool. I haven't once made fun of your-not-from-around-here-ness and so, really, my human-ness shouldn't enter the equation."

"Can I be someone else instead?" Ino called plaintively, from where she was sitting on the floor and finicking with a plant. Yes. Finicking.

"I believe there's a fee involved," he teased very gently as he wandered over to sit down next to her. He didn't really have much time, but he'd just skip his own lunch and ride like the wind.

"Something the matter with the plant?"

"I don't think it likes its pot very much, even though it's a very nice pot indeed," she told him, though the last bit was directed more at the plant than at him.

Then she asked half-seriously, "Do you think the fee is payable in plants?"

"Possibly. You'd have to discuss it with the Unnamed God. Generally, from what I've seen, He's open to negotiation or those huffy old men have wasted their time. Then again, Kumbricia or Lurline might give you a better price."

Blasphemy, of course, but he didn't rightly care. And he thought it might make her smile.

Then he turned to the plant.

"Are you misbehaving for her?" he said as if speaking to a child, "You really shouldn't. She's a very nice sort and beyond that, she only wants the best for you."

"I'd like quality more than a good price," she said, leaning towards him slightly. "So who do you think would do then?"

Him scolding the plant got a smile though. Even if the plant continued to look unimpressed.

Well. It was just a plant. You couldn't expect a scolding to do much.

"You made assumptions based on my behavior which are not true," Worf snapped. "When I was being polite you inferred I was being moronic. Then you have the gall to assume I had some sort of romantic interest in you. Which I do not! And this is not my first time with humans over analyzing a situation. That is my experience and not racist."

"One brought a great flood to the land of Oz and gave the Animals their speech. Or was that Lurline?"

He waved that off.

"It's a great mishmosh, really. Creation myths where I come from don't seem to know which end is up. Not that that's changed much.

"Either way, though, they're all three a good enough bet, though it depends on who or what you'd like to be instead."

His own lips curved just a little before pressing tight as he offered his arm for a hug.

"Or we could give it a shot. Truly throw our boots into the teeth of the immortal powers."

"Now look at who's over-analyzing everything!" she taunted, thoroughly enjoying herself as she got riled up. "For all you know it could've been a serious question, like seriously. And the rest of it was just a supposition totally, and you know what, from my point of view? Over-analyzing isn't just a human trait considering you're doing pretty good at it yourself!"

So. There. Ha.
