The York Gallery; Wednesday [ 05/28 ]

Charlotte loved coming down to the gallery to open and seeing four nice little red dots on some of the exhibits pieces. It certainly did quite a lot to set her mood for the day, happily working on her computer behind the front desk as she considered the possibilities for the next exhibit.

After scoping out and finally purchasing a new, adorable pair of shoes in celebration of this exhibit's success.

The York Gallery is open!

There's coffee available for guests if they'd like it. Charlotte herself has probably been drinking far too much. Yes, she does blame this directly on a certain someone.

Dale stepped into the gallery and gave Charlotte a wave of greeting.

"Hello! I'm not interrupting anything am I?"

"Dale!" Charlotte glanced up from her work with a bright smile in greeting when she spotted him. "Hi! And, no, of course not. Not anything important anyway."

"Good," Dale said, returning the smile as he approached her. "I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd check in to see how my favorite gallery owner was doing today."

"In the neighborhood and thought you'd check in on your favorite gallery owner," Charlotte asked with a smirk, a tilted head, "or in the neighborhood and you caught the scent of coffee brewing somewhere and thought you'd investigate and it just so happened..." She let the little rub trail off into just a grin.

"Oh there's coffee here?" Dale said putting on an innocent look. "Well this must be my lucky day."

Charlotte rolled her eyes a little, but the grin still stayed and she shook her head. "I guess so. You're welcome to have some, although by this point in the day, it's been, what? Six cups? Eight? Twenty?"

Dale let out a little chuckle. "Well I have had only four cups so far today. I'm a little behind on my quota," he said jovially.

"I'm not sure I entirely believe that," Charlotte admitted, but then tilted her head a little, smiling softly, as she asked, "So, how've you been?"

"Are you say I'm being untruthful?" Dale said pretending to look shocked. "I must say, that's quite an accusation. Other than having my character and moral fiber questioned, I'd say I'm doing quite fine."

Charlotte shot that shocked little expression a look and simply repeated, "Four cups?" with a skeptical lift of her eyebrow.

"I didn't say how big the cup actually was," Dale said holding up a finger as he tried to hide his amusement.. "Let's not quibble over details."

"I'll to remember next time to specify volume, then," Charlotte commented, laughing a little despite her failed attempts to keep a straight face. "Ounces. Liters. Gallons."

"I'm not telling now," Dale replied raising his chin in mock-defiance. "Simply because you are teasing me."

"Consider it payback," Charlotte told him. "Although, if that's the case, we're no where near being even yet."

"You do have a lot of ground to cover," Dale said with a small grin. "Though I doubt I'll give you a chance to take the lead."

"What makes you think," Charlotte chuckled, "that you'd have to give me the chance? I'm perfectly capable of just taking it, you know."

"I mean I don't intend to let you get close to my lead," Dale said leaning in. "I have too much fun making you blush."

"I don't think that should count," she said with a light grin, a leaning tilt of her head. "That's much too easy." The fact that even just mentioning it and the slight leaning in already had a little color spreading across Charlotte's cheeks only proved her point.

"Well you'll have to find a better way to stop me then," Dale said as he leaned in for a kiss.

Well, now, if that wasn't a hint, then Charlotte clearly didn't know what was. Dale certainly got that kiss; she was happy to give it.

And then she decided, when she drew away slightly to grin at him, "We should do something this weekend."

"I hear that there's a new country over the causeway," Dale suggested. "Unless going to France doesn't have any appeal for you."

"Oh." Charlotte shook her head. "None. I mean, France. Blech." She scrunched up her face but couldn't keep it going for long; eventually she couldn't help laughing a little. "Actually, I've just been holding it off for the right moment. If I didn't, I don't know if my checkbook could survive."

Mostly around, except that I might be inspired to actually do something this afternoon. Only time will tell.
