Wellspring Arms & Meditation Center, Thursday

Having checked, double-checked, then triple-checked every bit of security in the shop, Cable carried the baby downstairs with a wariness he wasn't showing. He flipped the sign to Open with ease, then settled behind his desk to flip through some of the security footage from the store.

... He really did need to do something where Ino was concerned.

Worf came in with his bat'leth in two and nodded at Cable as he headed for the meditation room.

"Thank you," Worf said with gruff politeness as he headed through the door.

After his class was over, Murdock wandered through town a bit and spotted the Wellspring Center. Besides just teaching kids to fly, running the class was keeping his own skills sharp. But he felt like he was beginning to slack off in other areas.

Finding the office, he stuck his head in the door. "Excuse me, do you happen to have a firing range here?"

"Sure. What all do you need?" He grinned when he noticed the baby. "She's cute."

Murdock pulled out a wallet and passed Cable his ID. An old Army one. Permit though...was a bit trickier. "I don't seem to have a permit. But I know how to handle a variety of weapons."

"If you wanna call it that, yah." He picked up the ID and slipped it away. "But we don't just work for anybody. Gotta be someone who needs help, can't take on whoever's trying to squash 'em on their own." He chuckled a little, "Guess you could say we're bad at the whole merc thing since we don't just do it for money. I mean, we still get paid," he added quickly. "Usually."

"There will always be scumballs in the world," he agreed. "But at least we're trying. And I don't really like people who try to prey on others." His voice grew just a bit darker, there.

"45. And an AK-47 if your range can handle that."

"It'd be nice if my buddies couldn't find employment, if you know what I mean," he grinned slightly. It'd also be nice if they weren't wanted by the government, but Murdock wasn't about to add that part.

"No problem, muchacho. I don't go messin' with no security stuff unless it gets in the way of a job." He considered Cable's words. "Does that mean I'm in?"

"That it would. And it would probably take more than just one man's lifetime. It'd be nice if people just got along once in a while. Might eliminate that whole war business," he muttered, glancing down and scuffing his feet a little.

He looked back up, grinning. "Thanks, man! I'll try to make sure you don't find nothin' that'd make you kick me out." A beat. "Uh, that didn't really come out right. What I meant was is that I ain't gonna give you no problems."

"Ain't that the truth. And you can't take back what's already been done. Just hope you can fix it a little and that others pick up to do the same."

He glanced down the hall briefly. "Cool. I'll probably swing by on the weekend. I don't exactly go wanderin' around with weapons." Unless he was working a job, that is. "Murdock, but you probably already know that from my ID. Nice to meet you an' the kid there." He had noticed the grip Cable kept on the baby, but said nothing. Probably was a good reason for it and he wasn't about to go prying. Crazy, yes. Dumb, no.

Murdock took the leaning to mean that Cable had relaxed somewhat. A little, but not very much. He opted to lean against the door frame. "Came out here a while back. For a convention. Seemed like a nice quiet place, good for a change of scenery." He gave a small shrug, "Reckon'd I could find something worthwhile to do with my time out here. And gives me a chance to get out a bit more." Being cooped up at the VA all the time could get downright boring.

"Yourself?"

He chuckled a little. "Yah. Nice place to retire, I agree." Retirement and seagulls. Okay. Probably a bit more to it than that. "I'm not so sure about the seagulls though. Probably better than them gremlins I heard about."

"Yah, tell me about it. I turned into a pony. A tiny, flyin' one at that. It was...different." And also a hell of a lot of fun. Murdock smiled as the baby wiggled. "Real cute kid."

"Probably should be going. Let you get back to work an' stuff."

Worf entered the meditation room and began to use his bat'leth in conjunction with the forms of the mok'bara.

He had a much easier time centering himself today without Ino around.
