The end of the Causeway, early Friday morning

The bus was waiting at the end of the causeway to whisk the Fandomites away to mainland Normandy, and the driver was handing out itineraries to anyone who wanted one.

First stop: the town of Bayeux, and a chance to shop and sightsee. Afternoon would see the bus heading to the beach, where tours could be taken and memorials visited.

Once the sun began to set, the bus would head for the night markets at Caen, one last chance to shop and eat before returning to Fandom.

[ooc: for mingling and bus boarding! No OCD on this one -- IT IS CHAOS I TELL YOU!]

The weather had finally cleared and there was a bus heading to France. Perfect coincidence for him. He looked over the itinerary as he waited for the bus to leave.

Lois was standing by the bus with a large coffee in her hand. It was way too damn early to be conscious.

Amber was ready and excited. Probably a little bouncy as well.

"You are bouncy," Ino greeted the girl she recognized vaguely but didn't think she knew. "I totally approve."

[identity profile] minnesota-teen.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Grinning, Amber replied, "I haven't been out explorin' any of France yet. I'm kind of excited."
intraspective: (Just a smile)

"I've been to France before," she admitted, "but I'm wondering how things have changed. It'll be fun, yeah? I think so."

Of course Turtle was going to participate in the field trip; she never tried to miss one if she could help it, and, hey, it wasn't like they wouldn't be back to interfere with work or anything. Or getting back for her new radio day!

Chad had a hard decision to make; true, he was supposed to work today, but there was the field trip to France, and he hadn't been to France, and he'd like to go to France and he could even speak French now, so...

There was a sign on the door of Groovy Tunes explaining that it was closed today because everyone should go on the field trip anyway, and he'd open the store tomorrow, instead, and there was a Chad waiting with the other for the bus.

Naomi was definitely looking forward to this trip.

Ella had not been off the island since she came to Fandom, and she certainly hadn't been to France. She was almost vibrating from the excitement of it all as she waited for the bus.

It was a trip to the beach, of course John was there. Granted, he didn't realize it wasn't that sort of beach.

[identity profile] ihaveniceteeth.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Gwen was fairly sure that Jack hadn't intended on her being confined to the island.

And if he had, he could bloody well bugger off.

If the coog was on the bus, chances were Barney was vying for a seat by her.

Otherwise, he was prepared to exchange his suit for 'tourist wear' and find some hot tourist chicks to hook up with. Who needed a wing man?

Adah waited for the bus with her nose stuck in one of the books she had written entirely in French. She might have only decided to go on this trip merely for the self-satisfaction of knowing that she could communicate with the locals, but wasn't going to be.

Ino was wondering idly if her French would be useful here. She knew the language, quite well even, but she'd learnt it in the past.

How had it changed? Hmmm.

She stretched, glad that it seemed like she'd avoided getting a cold from yesterday, and laughed just for the sake of laughing. It was morning, it was nice, there was going to be fun, and she was still feeling better from the flying yesterday--why shouldn't she laugh?

[identity profile] shyest-eyes.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Hinata slipped over to where Ino was standing, and laughing, and said, "G-Good morning, Ino-san."
intraspective: (Just a smile)

[personal profile] intraspective 2008-05-30 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Morning, Hinata-chan!" Ino chirped. "How've you been?"

[identity profile] shyest-eyes.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"I've b-been well," she said, wondering if she should bring up her questions now when Ino-san was in such a good mood, or if she should wait until later... she didn't want to ruin Ino-san's cheerfulness.

Hinata pressed her fingers together, mostly out of habit rather than any sense of unease. She glanced around and wondered what the day would bring. She didn't know anything about France, but hopefully this would be interesting.

After weighing out the possibility of running into Hugo again, Cal decided that, what the heck? Another little venture into the mainland might not be too bad.

Gavin hadn't been out in awhile so he dressed comfortably and headed down to the buses.

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Lee showed up and milled around while waiting to leave.

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Adah was willing to put her book aside for at least one waiting meanderer.

"I speak the language, you know," she commented as she slipped a little closer to the Eel. "If you're interested in having a guide."

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"You speak French?" Lee asked, smiling at her. "I didn't know that."

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Grinning, Adah promptly recited, "Puisque je ne pourrais pas m'arrêter pour la mort, il s'est arrêté avec bonté pour moi ; Le chariot se sont tenus mais juste nous-mêmes et l'immortalité..."

The grin quirked a bit more as she added, "Read and write it, too. Half of what got me into medical school, I think, was my noting that the dean's name backwards is a French word for someone who wears their clothes threadbare. Elimer."
